Adjusting the pump pressure (Fig. 12)
The optimum pump pressure is 4 PSI +/- 10% (0.28
bar). Turn the adjusting screw (T) with a screwdriver
until the manometer (Item 6) shows 4 PSI. Turn
clockwise = higher pressure, turn anticlockwise =
lower pressure.
15. Troubleshooting - Notes for the
expert
Problem
Flame ignites, but the heater switches off after a short
time, the LED flashes.
Possible cause
1. Pump pressure is incorrect
2. Soiled air filter
3. Soiled fuel filter
4. Soiled fuel nozzle
5. Soiled photo cell
6. Photo cell incorrectly assembled
7. Faulty photo cell
8. Inadequate electrical connection between
electronic circuit board and photo cell
Remedy
1. Adjust the pump pressure
2. Clean or replace the air filter
3. Clean or replace the fuel filter
4. Clean or replace the fuel nozzle
5. Clean or replace the photo cell
6. Install the photo cell correctly
7. Replace the photo cell
8. Test the electrical connection between the
electronic circuit board and the photo cell
Problem
Heater does not work at all or fan motor only runs for
a short time. The LED flashes.
Possible cause
1. No fuel in the tank
2. Pump pressure is incorrect
3. Corroded ignition electrodes or incorrect
separation distance between ignition contacts
4. Soiled fuel filter
5. Soiled fuel nozzle
6. Moisture/water in the fuel or fuel tank
7. Inadequate electrical connection between
transformer and electronic circuit board
8. Ignition cable is not attached to ignition electrode
9. Faulty ignition electrode
Remedy
1. Refuel the tank
2. Adjust the pump pressure
3. Clean or replace the ignition electrode
4. Clean or replace the fuel filter
5. Clean or replace the fuel nozzle
6. Clean the tank, fill with new fuel
7. Check all electrical connections
8. Connect the ignition cable to the ignition
electrode
9. Replace the ignition electrode
Problem
The fan motor does not switch on. Mains voltage is
provided, the ON/OFF switch is set to ON (I). The
LED is constantly on or flashes.
Possible cause
1. The thermostat is set to a temperature which is
too low.
2. Electrical connection between electronic circuit
board and motor is uninterrupted
Remedy
1. Adjust the thermostat knob to a higher
temperature
2. Check all electrical connections
Problem
The LED flashes.
Possible cause
Thermostat is faulty
Remedy
Replace the thermostat
Problem
Inadequate burning and/or soot
Possible cause
1. Flames are escaping at the front of the housing
2. The heating output is too low
3. Poor fuel quality
4. Generally inadequate maintenance
Remedy
1. Reduce the pump pressure
2. Raise the pump pressure
3. Check whether old or dirty fuel is being used
4. Have the appliance serviced by an expert
Problem
Heater does not switch on and LED does not light up
