MOUNTING AND WIRING
NOTE: All wiring should be installed according to local and
national electrical codes and ordinances
1.
Disconnect electrical power and gas supply to unit, then
remove unit access panels.
2.
Mark and disconnect all wires from the existing control,
then remove existing control.
3.
50X57-843 can be mounted in any orientation using
one of the three options provided. Select a location that
will not damage, obstruct or place any stress on the
terminations or harnesses.
4.
Mount 50X57-843 in the unit being certain not to damage
any components such as transformers, wire harness or
blower wheels when drilling or installing screws.
5.
Reconnect and ensure all wires are secure to the control

Enter Self-Test immediately after control
power up by:
Double clicking "FAULT RECALL" button while LED rapid
flashes green.
NOTE: Control will terminate Self-Test mode if any
system fault occurs. Control will ignore any active
thermostat calls during Self-Test.
Sequence is as follows:
LED will flash all stored fault codes five times.
no faults LED will be off for 2 seconds.
Afterward, the LED will slowly flash alternate colors

If there are
board and unused blower speed wires are attached to
the PARK terminals. Apply wire ties as needed to secure
wiring.
6.
Verify Heat Off Delay and Fan Speed dipswitch settings.
7.
If desired, run SELF-TEST mode prior to turning gas
supply back on (power must be turned on).
8.
Reinstall unit access panels, verify power is on, verify
gas supply is on. Perform final system checks.

Mounting Options

1.
The three plastic tabs allow direct drop-in mounting on
Carrier units.
2.
Control can be standoff mounted in many units without
drilling holes. Do not remove the cover or tray, simply
insert supplied standoffs and mount control.
3.
The three plastic tabs can be used as drill holes for
universal mounting on any unit. Cut off extra tabs for fit if
needed. Use ½" screws.
Dipswitch Setup
Fan Speed allows installer to use a blower speed that is
assigned to another mode of operation (HI COOL, LO
COOL, or HEAT) as the continuous fan speed tap
Cycle power after changes are made
(green, amber, red) to indicate Self-Test is active and
continue until Self-Test is complete.
Inducer motor will turn ON and continue running until
Self-Test is complete.
After 15 seconds, the ignitor will turn ON for 15 seconds,
then OFF.
Blower motor operates on Heat, HI COOL, LO COOL,
and FAN speeds respectively for 10 seconds each.
Blower and Inducer motors turn OFF.
Self-Test is complete, LED will display solid green to
indicate Standby mode.
