It is best to empty the dust container after each vacuuming session.
Empty the dust container at the latest:
- if the cleaning indicator (Fig. 8/A1) lights up;
- if the "MAX" marking (Fig. 8/B1) has been reached; or
- before prolonged storage or dispatch.
1. Switch off the appliance,
Chapter 4.3, "Switching off".
2. Press the release catch for the dust container (Fig. 8/A2) and remove
the dust container from its bracket.
3. Empty the dust container by holding it low over a dustbin and only then
press the release button (Fig. 8/B).
NOTE:
You can dispose of the contents of the dust container with your regular
domestic waste as long as it does not contain any substances not per-
mitted in domestic waste.
4. If the dust container can no longer be completely cleaned by simply
opening the bottom, the cyclone unit has to be removed,
"Cleaning dust container and motor protection filter".
It is best to check the motor protection filter each time you empty the
dust container,
Chapter 5.1, "Emptying the dust container".
Clean the motor protection filter at the latest when the cleaning indica-
tor (Fig. 8/A1) lights up.
1. Switch off the appliance, remove the dust container and empty it,
Chapter 5.1, "Emptying the dust container".
2. Release the dust container cover by firmly turning it in the direction of
the arrow (Fig. 9/A). Remove it from the dust container.
3. Pull the dual motor protection filter up and out of the dust container
(Fig. 9/B).
4. Take the cyclone unit up out of the dust container (Fig. 9/C).
5. Remove any residual dust still clinging to the dust container and cy-
clone unit using a dry cloth or a soft brush, e.g. the supplied furniture
brush.
ATTENTION:
Refrain from cleaning the cyclone unit with water. Otherwise, adhering
dirt particles may clog the cyclone unit.
6. Hold the dual motor protection filter low over a dustbin. Separate the fil-
ter elements from one another. Remove larger agglomerations of dirt
by hand.
7. Remove the small motor protection filter from its bracket (Fig. 10/A).
8. If the 3 motor protection filter elements are still dirty, thoroughly rinse
them by hand until all dirt is gone.
ATTENTION:
Let the filters dry for approx 24 hours at room temperature after clean-
ing. Only put them back into the appliance when they are completely dry.
9. If one of the filter elements is damaged, replace it with a new one
( Chapter 5.4, "Spare parts and accessories").
10. Put the small motor protection filter back into its bracket (Fig. 10/A).
11. Put the cyclone unit back into the dust container (Fig. 10/B). Take care
that the two wide tabs and the narrow tab engage in the wide grooves
and the small groove, respectively.
12. Reassemble the dual motor protection filter and put it back onto the cy-
clone unit (Fig. 11/A).
13. Put the dust container cover back on (Fig. 11/B). Take care that the two
wide tabs and the narrow tab engage in the wide grooves and the small
groove, respectively.
14. Lock the cover by turning it firmly in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 11/
