Settings
Always pull the mains plug out of the
socket before any type of work on the
machine.
6.1
Transport
Never carry or lift the machine by the
movable pivot guard (1.7).
For transportation, the saw unit should be locked
with the transport safety device (1.1) pushed down
and the pivot guard (1.7) closed.
Lift and carry the machine by the hand grip (1.6)
or by the saw table (1.8).
6.2
Mounting the machine
Place the machine on an even fl oor or use screw
clamps (illustration 1) to secure the machine on a
level, stable base (e.g. bench). The machine must
not move while work is in progress.
6.3
Changing tools
Risk of accidents
• Actuate the spindle lock only after the saw blade
has come to rest.
• The saw blade becomes very hot during opera-
tion; do not touch it before it has cooled down.
• Always wear protective gloves during tool
change due to the risk of injury from the sharp
tool cutters.
– Press the spindle lock (2.1).
– Open the screw (2.3) with the enclosed hexagon
wrench (left-hand thread!).
– Remove the clamping fl ange (2.4).
– Swivel the pivot guard (2.6) all the way back.
– Remove the saw blade.
– Clean all parts before installing them (saw
blade, fl anges, screw).
– Place the saw blade on the tool spindle.
Ensure that the directions of rotation of
the saw blade (2.5) and machine (2.2)
correspond.
– Place the clamping fl ange (2.4) on the tool spin-
dle, ensuring that there is a positive fi t and the
position is correct.
– Tighten the screw (2.3); tightening torque ap-
prox. 20 Nm.
– Check whether the saw blade rotates freely
before switching on the machine.
6.4
Dust extraction
Harmful/toxic dusts can be produced dur-
ing your work (e.g. lead-containing paint,
some types of wood and metal). Contact
with these dusts, especially inhaling
them, can represent a hazard for operat-
ing personnel or persons in the vicinity.
• Comply with the safety regulations that apply in
your country.
• Connect the electric power tool to a suitable
extraction system.
• To protect your health, wear a P2 protective
mask.
Before initial use of the machine, secure the
enclosed chip catcher (8.1) by sliding it onto the
mount (8.2).
Connect a Festool dust extractor with
an extractor hose diameter of 36 mm or
27 mm (36 mm recommended due to the
reduced risk of clogging) to the extractor
connector.
6.5
Setting sliding fence
– Open the rotary knobs (3.1).
– Push the sliding fence (3.3) as near as possible
to the saw blade but without touching it.
– Close the rotary knobs again.
6.6
Setting cutting angle
– Place the adjustable square (4.2) at the original
angle (e.g. corner of room).
– Close the screw (4.1).
– Open both clamping levers (3.2).
– Transfer the original angle to the saw by placing
the adjustable square on the saw table and then
positioning both pivotable sliding fences fl ush
against the adjustable square.
– Close both clamping levers (3.2).
