Sensor installation
4.1
Connection
The interior body (pH electrode) is ready for calibration.
– On unpacking, check the pH electrode for mechanical da-
mage. Report any damage immediately to your METTLER
TOLEDO supplier.
– Remove the watering cap, cap sleeve, membrane body
and briefly rinse the sensor with de-ionized water.
– After rinsing, the sensor should only be dabbed dry with a
tissue. Do not rub the pH-sensitive glass as this can lead
to electrostatic charging and sluggish response times.
– Check inside the pH-sensitive glass for the presence of
any air bubbles and remove same by gently swinging
the electrode in a vertical plane (shaking down as with a
thermometer).
– Calibrate the pH sensor as described in Section 5.
– Place the electrode into the housing as described in the
instructions for the housing.

Notice: Mounting upside-down or horizontally is not pos-
sible due to the internal pH electrode. An angle of 15 ° or
greater to horizontal is needed.
– Connect the electrode and the pH transmitter with the
corresponding cable (AK9 for the InPro 5000 (i), VP for
the InPro 5000). Observe the connection scheme that
accompanies the cable or the transmitter.
– ISM
sure startup and expanded diagnostics. For installation,
commissioning and operation of the ISM system please
refer to instructions for the transmitter, module and cable.
5
Operation
5.1
Calibration of the pH sensor
(Not needed for InPro 5000 i)
a: Min. immersion depth > 25 mm / 1"
For the analog CO
a 2-point calibration in pH buffers 7.00 and 9.21. Before
calibration, first remove wetting cap. Start with buffer pH
7.00 for determining zero point and then buffer pH 9.21 for
determining the slope. Please refer to instruction manual of
the transmitter for further details.

Notice: On the transmitter, select Pt 1000 as the tempera-
ture sensor for the analog InPro 5000. The InPro 5000 i
does not require a temperature setting.
