3. Temperature-sensitive or easily flammable media in the rotary
evaporator
When the pre-set bath temperature may not be exceeded under
any circumstances set the safety circuit as described below.
Setting the safety circuit
• Once the desired temperature of the medium has been reached
and the "Heating" signal lamp has blinked three times, the
safety circuit can be set.
• Using a suitable tool, slowly turn the adjustment knob (F) coun-
terclockwise until the red signal lamp lights up.
• Then press and slowly turn the adjustment knob (F) clockwise.
Once the red signal lamp goes out, turn the adjustment knob (F)
a little bit more in a clockwise direction so that the temperature
of the safety circuit is somewhat higher than the pre-set target
temperature (Turning the adjustment knob (F) by 5° corresponds
to an increase in the safety temperature of approximately 8 K).
Reset
Press the operating knob (F).

An error in the control or safety circuit is shown on the display,
LC display see fig. 6.
The 'Heating' function can no longer be started.
➣ When switching off the heating function and the medium tem-
perature is higher than 50° C, on the LC display is shown alter-
