7. Mounting Accessories
Always remove the plug from the mains prior to assembly. Hold the shaft lock button [3] pressed while
unfastening the collet nut [2]. Use the included spanner if necessary. Insert the accessory into the collet. Hold
the shaft lock button [3] pressed while you are fastening the collet nut [2]. Use the included spanner if
necessary. Do not operate the shaft lock button [3] while the device is still connected to the mains. Proceed in
reverse order to remove the accessory.
To mount the flexible shaft, hold the shaft lock button [3] pressed while unfastening the collet nut [2]. Use the
included spanner if necessary. Also unscrew the housing cap [1] and remove. Now, take the flexible shaft, screw
onto the drill and unscrew from the drill. The inner rotary shaft should be inserted into the collet. Now, hold the
shaft lock button [3] pressed while you are fastening the collet nut [2]. Use the included spanner if necessary.
Next, screw the flexible shaft again tightly onto the drill. To mount an accessory onto the flexible shaft, insert the
rear end of the spanner into the opening just below the collet nut of the shaft. Unfasten the shaft's collet nut,
insert the accessory into the collet and fasten the nut. Proceed in reverse order to remove the accessory.
8. Operation
Switch on the device by engaging the on/off switch [6]. Set the desired speed with the speed dial [5]. The
engine can burn out if too high a load is used at low speed. Only put the device down when the engine has
stopped completely. Do not store the device in a dusty environment as dust particles may penetrate the
mechanics. Always wear safety goggles when using this device.
This device should be used at high speeds for carving and drilling, working with glass, metals and hardwood.
This device should be used at low speeds for polishing, delicate work, most plastic materials.
9. Maintenance
Disconnect the device from the mains prior to maintenance activities.
The device is designed to function for a long time with a minimum of maintenance. Cleaning the device after use
and treating it with respect will enhance the life of your VTHD05. The device does not require any extra
lubrication.
10. Cleaning
Clean the casing regularly with a soft cloth when you are through. Remove all dirt and dust from the ventilation
slots.
Use a cloth moistened with soapy water for tenacious dirt. Do not use oils or solvents such as alcohol, ammonia,
etc. These substances damage the plastic parts.
11. Environment
The device is supplied in solid packaging in order to prevent damage during transport. The packaging has been
made as much as possible from recyclable materials. Keep this in mind when you throw away the packaging.
