Application
Operation is possible in conjunction with:
- Pressurized storage heaters
Operation with low-pressure storage heaters (displacement
water heaters) is not possible.
Specifications
• Max. flow
- Spout
- Handshower
• Flow pressure
- min.
- recommended
- greater than 72.5 psi, fit pressure reducing valves
• Max. operating pressure
• Test pressure
• Temperature
- max. (hot water inlet)
• Water connection
Notes
- Installation of backflow protection must comply with local
codes and regulations.
- An access panel must be provided for access to diverter and
hose connections.
- Major pressure differences between hot and cold water
supply should be avoided.
Installation
For layout dimensions to establish centers and proper
clearances, see dimensional drawings on fold-out page I.
The dimensional drawing and the drilling template for fitting
plate (A) (not included in the scope of delivery) show a form of
installation suggested by GROHE, for which no further
components are required, see fold-out page I.
If the thickness of mounting deck is less than 1 3/8" the
extension set (L1) must be removed, see fold-out page II
Fig. [9] and description Maintenance for Thermostatic
cartridge, non-return valve and isolating valves.
If the thickness of mounting deck is less than 1" the
screws (J4) must be cut, see fold-out page I Fig. [3].
In any case the thickness shall not be less than 13/16".
In case of deviations to the suggested installation, observe
minimum clearance required for escutcheon sizes and
handles.
Prepare fitting plate (A).
Install thermostat unit, see Figs. [1], [2] and [3].
1. Fasten mounting plate (B) to fitting plate (A) centrally from
below, using screws (C), see Fig. [1].
2. Fasten pre-mounted thermostat unit (D) to the fitting plate
from above, using bolts (E), see Fig. [2].
3. Fix the cap nuts (F) on 2 diagonally-opposite bolts (E).
By loosening the bolts (E), the thermostat unit can be moved
to the right and to the left, in order to enable opening and
closing of the isolating valves following installation or for
maintenance purposes.
4. Connect hoses (G) with G1/2 to the thermostat unit.

8. Attach escutcheon (J) and fasten with screws (J4).
9. Unscrew sleeve (L) and cap (M) from scale ring (K).
10. Attach scale ring (K) so that the 100 °F marking points
The thermostat is adjusted at the factory. If, due to
approx. 30 L/min or 7.7 gpm
installation conditions, re-adjustment is necessary, please

see Adjustment.
7.25 psi
Install shut-off valve, see Figs. [3] and [4].
14.5 - 72.5 psi
1. Install mounting and sealing set (N1) on the shut-off valve
shank.
145 psi
2. Fasten the shut-off valve from above using mounting and
232 psi
sealing set (N2).
The distance from the shut-off valve upper edge to fitting

cold on right side
3. Attach escutcheon (O).
hot on left side
4. Screw in spindle (P) and cap (Q).
5. Install one of the elbows (R3) to the side vale.
6. Connect hose (G) to the shut-off valve with G3/4 and to the
thermostat unit with G1/2.
Install shank for spout, see fold-out page II Fig. [5].
1. Place the O-ring (R1) and the escutcheon (R) on the fitting
plate (A).
2. Insert the spout (S) through the escutcheon (R) and fitting
plate (A).
3. Secure the spout (S) with the mounting set (S1).
4. Install the diverter (T) to the spout, gently guiding the lift rod
assembly (T1) up through the center of the spout (S).
5. Tighten the lift rod knob (T2) to lift rod assembly (T1).
6. Install one of the elbows (R3) to the diverter (T).
7. Connect hose (R2) to diverter and shut-off valve.
Install handshower, see Fig. [6].
1. Install the escutcheon (U3) onto the guide (U).
2. Install the guide (U) to fitting plate (A) using mounting and
sealing set (U1), insure that the O-ring (U2) is in place.
3. Insert shower hose (V) through hose guide (U) from below.
4. Tighten the shower hose (V) to the handshower (W) and the
diverter (T).
Avoid crossing the hoses.
Insure the supplied washers are used for all connections.
When using the handshower (W), it must be ensured that
spray water does not penetrate the hose guide (U).
Flush pipes thoroughly.
Attach hoses (G) to the existing connections, see Fig. [7].
Cold water connection on right, hot water connection on
left.
Observe marking on the housing.
Check all connections for leaks
