Safety provisions
3.4
When fuelling up
Petrol is highly flammable. Keep away from open flame and do not spill fuel. Do not smoke at the
workplace or at the site of fuelling!
x Always switch off the engine before fuelling.
x Fire hazard! Never refuel while the engine is still hot!
x Always carefully open the tank cap so that any overpressure present can reduce slowly and no fuel will
splash out.
x Prevent skin and eye contact with fuel and other mineral oil products by wearing protective clothing, eye
and face protection. In case of eye contact, rinse at once with lots of clear water. In case of persistent
irritation, see a doctor immediately!
x Regularly change and clean protective clothes.
x Avoid breathing in fuel vapour.
x The refuelling site should be well ventilated.
x Avoid any soil spillage of fuel or oil (protection of the environment). Use a suitable mat.
x Immediately clean any fuel spilled on the power tool. Change contaminated clothing without delay.
x Always tighten the fuel tank cap firmly by hand without using any tools. Tank cap is equipped with an
overturning protection and must be turned closed until a clear "skipping".
The fuel tank cap must not be able to work itself loose as a result of the vibrations of the engine.
x Danger to life from burns! Observe leaks. Do not start up and work when fuel is escaping.
x Fuels and oil must only be stored in properly and correctly labeled containers.
3.5
In transport
x Before carrying the power tool (even across short distances from one working area to the next), always
turn off the engine and wait until the cut-off wheel has stopped. Carry the power tool by the top handle
and have the cut-off wheel point backwards.
x Danger of burns! Do not touch the hot muffler.
x Never carry or transport the power tool with the cut-off wheel running.
x To avoid spilling of fuel and to prevent damage, the power tool must be secured against tipping when
transporting it in vehicles. Check the tank for fuel for tightness.
Recommendation: Empty the tank before transport.
x Empty the tank before shipping.
x Remove cut-off wheel before shipping.
Recommendation: Keep the original packaging in order to protect the equipment against transport damage
in case you ever need to ship it or transport it.
