4. MAINTENANCE

1) CLEANING
Reverse Polarity Chlorinators have self-cleaning cells which means the
maintenance required is minimal. In exceptional cases, when the calcium content
is abnormally high, the chlorination may not totally remove all of the deposit. In
this case, the calcium level must be adjusted to normal levels and the cell must
be cleaned.
Procedure: Turn off the chlorinator, disconnect cell cable, and remove
cell. The dirty cell should be placed in a 20% solution of hydrochloric acid (8
parts of water to 2 parts of hydrochloric acid) You should makesufficient
disolution to be able to immerse the cell completely. Don´t immerse the cap
where the connections are located. For safety please remember to add the pool
acid to the required amount of water, not the water to the acid. The cell can also
be cleaned using a pressurised water hose. Do not use metal tools to scrape off
any remaining on the plates.
