Proper use
• The LSC phototherapy unit provides a light bath to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD),
also known as the "winter blues".
Contraindication
• Before using the appliance, consult your doctor if you:
— suffer or have suffered from serious depression
— are hypersensitive to light
— suffer from eye disease
— take certain drugs, for example psychotropic or antimalarial drugs
— suffer from high blood pressure

about the power supply
• Before connecting the device to your power supply, please ensure that the
supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
• Do not use the appliance if it is damaged, if its power cord or plug is
damaged, if it is not in perfect working order, or if it has been dropped or
fallen into water.
• If you notice any damage, dispose of the appliance or have it repaired by an
authorised service centre. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself in the
event of a malfunction since this will invalidate the warranty.
• Only insert the plug into a power socket when the appliance is switched off.
• Do not touch the mains plug if you are standing in water and only ever touch
the plug when your hands are dry.
• If the device falls into water, do not try to pick it up. Instead pull the plug
out immediately.
• Keep the appliance and its power cord away from hot surfaces, naked flames
and other heat sources.
• Lay the power cord so that there is no danger of tripping over it.
• Switch off all functions after use and pull the plug out of the power socket.
• Always pull on the plug itself when disconnecting the device from the power
supply. Never pull on the power cord!
• Never carry, pull or rotate the device by the mains cable and never pinch the
cable between other objects. Do not wind the cord around the appliance.

• This device is not designed to be used by persons (including children) with
limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by persons with insufficient
experience and/or knowledge, unless under observation by a person respon-
sible for their safety, or unless they have been instructed in the use of the
device.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• On first using the appliance, you may experience eye fatigue or headache.
This is normal and soon passes. If the symptoms persist, consult your doctor
and stop using the appliance.
