7. Backlight
• Attention: Continuous illuminated backlight only works when using the power adapter.
• Press the LICHT button once to dim the backlight.
• Press the LICHT button once more to turn off the backlight.
• To temporarily activate the backlight, press any button (in battery operation only).
8. Operation
• The device will automatically quit the setting mode if no button is pressed for 20 seconds.
• Press and hold the – or + button in setting mode for fast mode.
• With the MODUS button you can toggle between weekday and date in normal mode.

8.1 Manual settings

• Press and hold the MODUS button in normal mode for three seconds to enter the setting mode.
• GERMAN (default) flashes on the display.
• Adjust the desired language (GERMAN or ENGLISH) with the – or + button.
• If you select English, the display will now appear in English.
• Press the MODUS button again to do the settings in the following sequence: the button tone (BEEP ON - default), DCF
reception (RCC ON - default), the time zone (DCF 0H - default), the 12 or 24 hours system (TIME 24H - default), the hours,
the minutes, the year, the month, the date and the temperature unit (TEMP °C - default). Press the – or + button to adjust it.
• Confirm the setting with the MODUS button.
• Once the DCF time signal is successfully received and the DCF reception is activated, the manually set time is overwritten.
8.1.1 DCF reception
• By default, the DCF reception is activated (RCC ON) and after successful reception of the DCF signal no manual adjustment
is necessary.
• Press the – or + button if you want to deactivate the DCF reception (RCC OFF).
• Confirm the setting with the MODUS button.

8.1.2 Time zone setting

• In the setting mode, press the – or + button to make the time zone correction (-12/+12).
• The time zone correction is needed for countries where the DCF signal can be received but the time zone is different from
the DCF time (e.g. +1=one hour plus).
• Confirm the setting with the MODUS button.
8.1.3 24- or 12-hour system setting
• In the setting mode you can choose between the 12 - or 24 hour system.
• Press the – or + button.

• In the 12-HR system AM (before noon) or PM (after noon) appears on the display.
• Confirm the setting with the MODUS button.

8.1.4 Temperature unit setting

• You can change between °C (Celsius) or °F (Fahrenheit) as temperature unit in setting mode.
• Press the – or + button.
• Confirm the setting with the MODUS button.
9. Maximum/Minimum function
• Press the + button in normal mode.
• OUTDOOR and HI appear on the display.
• The highest outdoor temperature is displayed since the last reset.
• Press the + button again.
• OUTDOOR and LO appear on the display.
• The lowest outdoor temperature is displayed since the last reset.
• Press the + button again.
• INDOOR and HI appear on the display.
• The highest indoor temperature is displayed since the last reset.
• Press the + button again.
• INDOOR and LO appear on the display.
• The lowest indoor temperature is displayed since the last reset.
• Press the + button again to return to normal mode.
• The device will automatically quit the MAX/MIN mode if no button is pressed for a long period of time.
9.1 Reset to the current temperature
• There is an automatic daily reset of maximum and minimum temperature (midnight 00:00).
• To clear the recorded maximum or minimum readings manually, press and hold the + button for two seconds while the
maximum or minimum values are displayed.
10. Trend indicator
• The trend arrow on the display indicates if the temperature values are increasing, steady or decreasing.
11. Positioning and mounting of the base station and the transmitter
• Place the base station in any room of the house. Make sure you avoid the vicinity of any source of interference such as
computer screens, TV sets or solid metal objects.
