To prevent the instrument from overheat-
ing, the test ends automatically after a spe-
cific time.
Observe safety measures. Connect both test
probes to the test object.
•
The voltage testers switch on automati-
cally from a voltage of approx. 24 V.
•
The voltage is displayed by an LED row
(3), the VP-720 also indicates the volt-
age digitally on the LC display (9).
•
In the case of AC voltages the "+" and
"-" LEDs are lit simultaneously.
•
The instruments feature an LED row
with the values 12 V, 24 V, 50 V, 120 V,
230 V, 400 V, 690 V.
•
In the case of DC voltage the polarity of
the indicated voltage refers to the
instrument test probe (2) .
•
When the two pushbuttons (11) are
pressed, the internal load is applied and
the 12 V light-emitting diodes are also
lit.
•
From approx. 150 V the integrated
vibration function is also activated if
both pushbuttons (11) are pressed.
Single-pole phase test
(VP-710 and VP-720 only)
The single-pole phase test functions
from an AC voltage of approx. 100 V
AC.
During the single-pole phase test to
determine external conductors, the dis-
play function may be impaired (e.g.
with insulating personal protective
equipment or at insulating locations).
The single-pole phase test is not suit-
able to test for absence of voltage. This
always requires a two-pole voltage test.
•
Connect instrument test probe (2) to
the test object. The LED for single-pole
phase test is lit on the display (5).
Voltage test with RCD/FI trip test
For voltage tests in systems with RCD/FI
earth leakage circuit breakers an RCD/FI can
be tripped with a 10 mA or 30 mA nominal
leakage current.
To do this, the voltage is tested between L
and PE and both pushbuttons (11) are
pressed simultaneously. The RCD/FI trips.
Continuity test
(VP-710, VP-720 only)
The test object must be de-energised.
•
Check for the absence of voltage by
conducting a two-pole voltage test on
the test object
•
Connect both test probes to the test
object. For continuity ( up to approx.
500 kΩ ) the LED for continuity Rx (7) is
lit.
