Setting procedure for the manual flash mode MLo
• Turn on the mecablitz by its main switch.
Continue depressing the „Mode" key until
2
„MLo" flashes on the LC display.
• The setting becomes immediately effective. The
LC display is returned to its normal state after
approx. 5 sec.
4.3 "SB" spot beam mode (AF spot
measuring beam))
In the spot beam mode the AF measuring beam of
the mecablitz can be used to focus on a subject at
a low ambient light level, without firing a flash for
picture taking.
There is no flash readiness indication or correct
exposure confirmation given in the camera's view-
finder when in spot beam mode. Nor does the
camera switch to flash sync speed with the result
that it behaves as if it were not connected to a
flash unit.
The Spot Beam Mode is only possible if the
mecablitz is switched on and ready for firing
(observe flash readiness indication on the
mecablitz).
No flash will be fired when the camera's
shutter release is pressed. Please refer to the
remarks concerning the AF measuring beam
in chapter 7.7.
Activating the SB mode
Keep depressing the "Mode" key on the mecablitz
until "SB" appears on the LC display whereupon all
other indications on the display will be cancelled.
The setting instantly becomes effective.
Deactivating the SB mode
Continue depressing the "Mode" key on the
mecablitz until the required flash mode is display-
ed (TTL, M or MLo). This deactivates the SB mode
and the normal indications reappear on the LC
display.
