Check the facepiece for cracks, tears and dirt. Be certain the
facepiece, especially the face seal area, is not distorted.
The material must be pliable - not stiff.
1
Examine the inhalation valves for signs of distortion, cracking or
tearing. Lift valves and inspect valve seal for dirt or cracking.
Ensure that the head straps are intact and have good elasticity.
Examine all plastic parts for signs of cracking or fatigue; make sure
the gaskets are properly seated.
Remove the exhalation valve cover and examine the exhalation valve
and valve seat for signs of dirt, distortion, cracking or tearing. Replace
the exhalation valve cover.
The lens should be clean and free from any cracking or fatigue.
Test by tapping with hard object (such as a closed fist), to check for
embrittlement.

6. Instructions for fitting prior to use

6.1. Assembly instructions
• Before attaching the filters ensure that gaskets are in place on
facepiece bayonet connector.
• For correct filter use see the relevant instruction leaflet and
the scheme on page 1 of this leaflet.
• When attaching the filters to the facepiece ensure that the
filters are of identical type and class.
6.2. Donning and Fitting (Fig. 1-2)
Fully loosen all 6 headstraps, then place the harness
at the back of the head and pull the facepiece down over
the face.
Pull the ends of the 6 straps to adjust the tightness, starting
with the neck straps first, followed by the temple straps; do not
tighten the headstraps too tightly as this may deform the nose
cup and narrow the inhalation air passage.
