Always keep the saw blade sharp. Observe the
maximum speed marked on the saw blade.

Do not use saw blades which are damaged or
deformed.

Do not use saw blades made of high speed steel.
7.
Use only saw blades recommended by HITACHI.
8.
The saw blades should be from 216 mm to 219 mm
external diameter ranges.
9.
Select saw blades in relation to the material to be
cut.
10. Never operate the compound saw with the saw
blade turned upward or to the side.
11. Ensure that the workpiece is free of foreign matter
such as nails.
12. Replace table insert when worn.
13. Do not use the saw to cut other than aluminium,
wood or similar materials.

14. Connect compound saw to a dust collecting device
when sawing.
The operator is informed of factors that influence
exposure of dust e.g. type of material being
machinered and importance of local extraction
(capture or source) and proper adjustment of hoods/
baffles/chutes.
15. Take care when slotting.
16. When transporting or carrying the tool, do not grasp
the holder. Grasp the handle instead of the holder.
17. Start cutting only after motor revolution reaches
maximum speed.
18. Promptly cut OFF the switch when abnormality ob-
served.
19. Shut off power and wait for saw balde to stop before
servicing or adjusting tool.
20. During a miter or bevel cut the blade should not be
lifted until it has stopped rotation completely.

PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Power source
Ensure that the power source to be utilized conforms
to the power requirements specified on the product
nameplate.
2. Power switch
Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF position. If
the plug is conencted to a receptacle while the trigger
switch is in the ON position, the power tool will start
operating immediately, inviting serious accident.
3. Extention cord
When the work area is removed from the power
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be kept
as short as practicable.
4. When the tool is shipped, its movable parts are fixed
by the fixing pin. Move the handle a little and remove
the pin by pulling it as illustrated in Fig. 2.
During transport, fix the fixing pin into the hinge. (Fig.
2)
5. Attach the dust bag to the main unit (Fig. 1)
6. Installation
Attach the power tool to a level, horizontal work bench.
Select 8 mm diameter bolts suitable in length for the
thickness of the work bench.
Bolt length should be at least 60 mm plus the thickness
of the work bench.
