CONTROL OPERA TIONS AND FUNCTIONS
POWER SUPPLY
This unit is designed to operate on AC mains supply or 6V DC by using 4pcs UM1 or equivalent
batteries.
AC OPERATION
Insert one end of the AC power cord into AC SOCKET (19) of the set and the other end into an AC wall
outlet.
Plugging the mains lead to AC SOCKET (19) will automatically disconnect the batteries.
DC OPERATION
Slide to open BATTERY COMPARTMENT (20) at back of unit and insert 4 pcs "UM1" batteries. Please
make sure that they are inserted with correct polarity and close the battery door. Your unit is now ready
for operation.
RADIO OPERATION
1.) Set the FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to RADIO position and set the BAND SWITCH (14) to the
desired band position.
2.) Tune the TUNING KNOB (10) to the desired broadcast station.
3.) Adjust VOLUME CONTROL (13) to the desired level.
4.) Extend TELESCOPIC ANTENNA (1 1) to full extent if you are tuning FM broadcasting.
5.) Turn off the radio by setting FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to TAPE position.
SLEEP OPERATION
1.) Set the FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to SLEEP position.
2.) Press PLAY BUTTON (7) to start tape playback and the radio will be turned "ON". When the tape
is played to the end, the radio will be turned "OFF".
CASSETTE OPERATION
INSERTION OF CASSETTE TAPE
Press STOP/EJECT BUTTON (4) to open the CASSETTE DOOR (2). Insert a good quality music
recorded cassette tape (open part of cassette facing upwards)
and firmly close the cassette door.

PLAYBACK
1.) Set the FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to TAPE position.
2.) Insert recorded tape of your favorite music.
3.) Press PLAY BUTTON (7) firmly down until locked.
4.) Adjust VOLUME CONTROL (13) to the desired level.
5.) Press FAST FORWARD BUTTON (5) to forward tape.
6.) Press REWIND BUTTON (6) to rewind tape.
7.) When tape comes to an end in play mode, tape will be automatically switched off.
PERSONAL RECORDING
1.) Insert a cassette tape.
2.) Set the FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to TAPE position.
3.) Depress RECORD BUTTON (8) and PLAY BUTTON (7) simultaneously. Then it will start recording
through BUILT-IN MICROPHONE (16)
4.) To end recording, press STOP/ EJECT BUTTON (4) or it will automatically stop when the cassette
runs to the very end.
RADIO RECORDING
1.) Insert a cassette tape.
2.) Set the FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to RADIO position select the desired band, and tune the
TUNING KNOB (10), to the desired broadcast station. After that, press down RECORD BUTTON
(8) and PLAY BUTTON (7) simultaneously.
3.) When recording to broadcast is over, depress the STOP/ EJECT BUTTON (4) lightly, then set the
FUNCTION SWITCH (12) to TAPE position.
4.) If you desire to play recorded broadcast, please follow the instructions explained in playback
column.
ERASURE
When you record over previously recorded tape, the original recording will be automatically erased and
replaced by the newly recording materials.
HEADPHONE
For private listening, insert a 3.5mm headphone into the HEADPHONE JACK (15). Then SPEAKER (1)
will be automatically cut off.
CAUTION: Listening at high power for a long moment could damage users' ears.
PRECAUTION AND MAINTENANCE
1.) Avoid placing this unit near sources of high temperature such as fireplace or sunlight for long time
as this may result in damages to plastic housing or electrical parts inside the unit.
2.) If you are not using the unit for an extended period of time, please remove batteries as batteries
may leak and cause damage.
3.) Be sure to press STOP/ EJECT BUTTON (4) before inserting or removing cassette tape.
4.) As playback head might get oxidized after certain time of use, this can be cleaned with cotton
swab or "Q" tip dipped in alcohol.
5.) There are no serviceable parts inside the unit. Therefore, do not open the back cover of the unit. In
case of any defect or repair of unit, please refer to qualified service center.
