Do not bring the retractable fall arresters into contact with
aggressive substances (e.g. oil, grease, acid, solvents or other
chemicals).
8.) Regular checks
The inspections (documented visual and functional checks) must
take place at least once a year (in accordance with EN) and should
be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with DGUV
guideline 312-906 (i.e. complying with national guidelines for PPE
inspection). These are intended to ensure the safety of the user, the
device's function and therefore also its service life. Maintenance
(documented disassembly and intensive inspection) must be
carried out at least once every 5 years and may only be carried out
by SKYLOTEC or a service company trained by Skylotec. Regular
inspection and maintenance depends on the actual usage intervals
and the atmosphere (dust, moisture etc.) in which the retractable
fall arrester is used. The device must be protected against contact
with third-party materials such as salts, oils, chemicals, paints and
against the impact of fire, welding flames and sparks, acids and
alkalis, and similar. The check must be entered in the Skylotec
Homebase, and the record card set out under Point 10 can also
be used.
