Descaling
The appliance must be descaled after 3 months
or 300 applications.
We recommend descaling the appliance only af-
ter it has cooled.
The descaling program lasts about five minutes.

Descaling, after the appliance has cooled
1. Switch the appliance off and remove all
accessories.
2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold tap water
and add the recommended quantity of
household descaler.
3. Place a large container under the milk
spout.
4. Now press the CLEAN button and, with the
other hand, switch on the appliance.
5. The descaling process starts immediately;
during this time the CLEAN button is illu-
minated.
6. When the descaling cycle is completed (as
soon as the water tank is empty), leave the
appliance switched on, clean the water tank
thoroughly and fill it with water again.

9. When you have completed the long cleaning
program, the front cover and the milk
frothing head must be cleaned, for hygienic
reasons. The milk tank and the removable
suction tube should be placed in warm
water over night.
10. To remove the suction tube, carefully pull
the tube out of the lid for the milk tank.

11. Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning
it.
12. Before cleaning, always turn off the appli-
ance and unplug it from the power supply.
13. Wipe off the base housing with a soft, dry
cloth.
14. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents,
steel wool, metal objects, metal polish, hot
cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they
can damage the appliance.
15. The removable parts, such as the water tank,
milk tank, etc. are not dishwasher suitable.
16. Clean these parts with warm water and
a little mild dishwashing detergent; then
allow the parts to dry thoroughly.
7. Then press the CLEAN button for five minu-
tes and let the appliance run for five minu-
tes, until the water tank is empty.
8. You must repeat this process once more
before you switch off the appliance. Make
sure to fill the water tank again before
repeating the descaling cycle. However,
do not switch off the appliance during this
time! Clean all accessories as described
in the section on Cleaning and Care. Also
clean the water tank thoroughly to remove
all residue from the descaler.
9. Before you prepare hot milk or frothed milk
again, run the long cleaning program two
times.

10. Carry out steps 1-3 as described above.
11. Press the CLEAN button and, with the other
hand, switch on the appliance.
12. The CLEAN button lights up and the A and B
buttons flash until the appliance has cooled
sufficiently. This process can take a while.
13. When the appliance has cooled, the CLEAN
button remains illuminated and the A and
B buttons no longer flash. Press the CLEAN
button once.
