The protective metal cage can be retrofitted and protects
against mechanical damage. It prevents hazards that may
occur if a bowl bursts.
Under hard or extreme operating conditions (solvent-laden
vapors), metal bowls and metal lubricators domes are to
be used.

Filter
Compressed-air filter cleans compressor air of moisture and
solid matter. A filter cartridge made of sintered PE featuring a
40 µm pore width is installed as a standard (5 µm pore width
optionally).
Maintenance: By means of the drain plug, regularly drain the
condensation water before it reaches the "max." mark. It is
safer to build in or attach an automatic drain valve of type 441
or 5370.
Cleaning of filter: Depressurize the service unit (vent air).
Detach bowl (

the filter cartridge and wash it out or replace it with a new car-
tridge. Refit bowl.
Microfilter
Microfilters as second stage (downstream of filter with 5 µm
pore width) are cleaning the compressed air almost entirely
of the remaining smallest water and oil droplets and dirt par-
ticles – 99.999 % effective (relative to 0.01 µm). Filter change
at max. 1 bar pressure drop through the service unit, but after
one year at the latest. The filter cartridge cannot be cleaned
and must therefore be replaced. A clogging indicator is avai-
lable as a option.

Cartridge replacement: Depressurize service unit. Detach
the reservoir at bayonet and unscrew the old filter cartridge;
screw in a new filter cartridge with O-ring, refit reservoir. (In
analogy to changing of sintered filter,
Pressure Regulator/Precision pressure regulator
Compressed air regulators maintain a largely constant wor-
king pressure regardless of network pressure fluctuations and
air consumption. The admission pressure should be about 2
bar higher than the working pressure. The pressure gauge
also can be fitted on the back. With self-tightened connection

).
Adjustment: Before adjusting the pressure, pull up the
handwheel and turn it to the left to relieve the regulator (
Then turn it clockwise until the pressure gauge displays the
desired working pressure. Arrest the handwheel again by pus-
hing it in. Observe maximum admission pressure and working
pressure. As option a lockable handwheel is available (cannot
be retrofitted!)
Maintenance: To grease the O-rings, depressurize the ser-
vice unit. Unscrew bottom, remove main valve and grease O-
rings and guide pin (approximately every 6 months,
depending on quality of air).
