5b) If the password number set is not correct, the following message appears on the console display:
5b1) To try again to enter the password, press "ENTER" and proceed as described in point (3).
5b2) To interrupt the procedure and exit from the menu, press "CLEAR". The display will show the last message displayed before
going into the menu.
NOTE
• Console programming by means of the CP 3100 control unit is still possible even when the console is locked.

PROCEDURE FOR UNLOCKING THE CONSOLE

The procedure described below makes it possible to unlock the console after it has been previously locked. If a password for console
locking/unlocking has been programmed on the CP 3100 control unit, it is necessary to know the password number.
1) When the console has been locked, three different conditions may be present. Proceed accordingly, as described in the following points.
1a) If no key was pressed after console locking, the message "LOCKED !" remains on the display. Press "ENTER" or "CLEAR" to begin
the unlocking procedure. The following message appears on the display, asking the user to enter the password number.
1b) If a complete attempt to unlock the console was made following console locking, the message "WRONG PASSWORD !" appears on
the display. Press "ENTER" or "CLEAR" and proceed as described in point (2).
1c) If an incomplete attempt to unlock the console was made following console locking, the message "PASS -> . . . XXXXX" appears on
the display. Press "ENTER" or "CLEAR" and proceed as described in point (2).
2) Press the numerical keys corresponding to the password. Each time a numerical key is pressed, one of the "x" symbols is replaced with
a dot " . ". If the password is composed of less than 8 digits, you have to leave the remaining fields empty. If no password is used for con-
sole locking/unlocking, proceed as described in the following point.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• The password number to enter must coincide exactly with the one set on the CP 3100 control unit.
• The password can only be composed of the numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
3) Press "ENTER" to unlock the console.
3a) When the console is unlocked, the display shows the last message displayed before entering the menu for console locking (e.g. "COM-
MUNICATION ON").
3b) If the password number set is not correct, the following message appears on the console display:
To try again to enter the password, press "ENTER" or "CLEAR", and proceed as described in point (2).

AUDIO ZONE SELECTION

SELECTING ONE OR MORE AUDIO ZONES

The following procedure is used for selecting one or more audio zones or groups of zones in which a microphone announcement, a recorded
message, or a recorded tone is to be transmitted.
1) Press and release the numerical keys on the console (from "1" to "16") that correspond to the zones or groups of zones you want to se-
lect. The selections made are indicated by the corresponding LEDs (ref. 2 - Fig. 1, page 132), which light up in one of the following ways:
• LED flashing, to indicate that the zone or group of zones associated to the numerical key pressed is engaged.
• LED on in continuous mode, to indicate that the zone or group of zones associated to the numerical key pressed is free.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• A group of zones is free when all the zones that compose that group are free. A group of zones is engaged even when only one of the
zones in that group is engaged.
The following message appears on the console display, indicating that at least one zone or group of zones has been selected:
2a) To cancel the selection of a zone (or group of zones), press and release the corresponding numerical key on the console. The associated
LED should go off.
2b) To cancel all the selections made, press "CLEAR". The LEDs corresponding to the zone/group selection keys goes off, and the message
preceding the selection reappears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
