IMPORTANT NOTE
• It is not possible to proceed as indicated in the following point unless at least one zone or group of zones has been selected.
4) Press "PLAY" (ref. 14 – Fig. 1, page 132). The corresponding LED (ref. 17 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up, and the following message appears
on the console display.
5) Press "ENTER" to send the request to the CP 3100 control unit for enabling the functions selected (relay control + local message play-
back). The "ENTER" LED (ref. 15 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up and the following message appears on the display, indicating that you mu-
st wait a few seconds.
5a) As soon as the control unit makes a check on the free/engaged status of the resources necessary for transmitting a local message,
the console display shows one of the messages "a", "b", "c", or "d" described in point (3) of the section "TRANSMITTING A LOCAL
ANNOUNCEMENT".
5b) When "ENTER" has been pressed, the selected relays are switched, even if the request for transmission of the audio signal (local play-
back) is not immediately carried out due to an unavailable resource (e.g. board audio, audio zones). The relays are switched back to
the original position when:
a. message playback is terminated (end of playback).
b. the request for enabling the two functions (local message playback + relay control) is cancelled using the "CLEAR" key.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Due to special events (e.g. an emergency situation), the status of the zones may change. Free zones could be engaged by other users
having absolute priority ("override" capacity).
• The messages on the display and the way the LEDs are lit indicate the status of the system, and can therefore vary at any time (e.g.
change in status of the zones from free to engaged or vice versa).
6) To cancel the request made and interrupt the functions selected, press "CLEAR". The LEDs corresponding to the zone/group selection
keys go off, along with the "ENTER", "PLAY", "CLEAR", and "PTT" LEDs and the LEDs of the function keys selected, and the message
preceding the selection reappears on the console display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
IMPORTANT NOTE
• If "CLEAR" is pressed while the message playback is in progress, the message is immediately interrupted.
LOCAL MESSAGE RECORDING/PLAYBACK
RECORDING A LOCAL MESSAGE
The following procedure makes it possible to record a message using the digital recorder of the BM 3616 console.
1) Press "RECORD" (ref. 3 – Fig. 1, page 132). The corresponding LED (ref. 4 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up, and the message below appears
on the console display, indicating that the recording is in pause status and that confirmation is needed in order to start the recording.
2) To cancel the operation and exit from the menu, press "CLEAR". The "RECORD" LED goes off and the display shows the last message
displayed before going into the menu (normally "COMMUNICATION ON").
3) Press "ENTER" to start the recording, which can be maximum 30 seconds long. The "CLEAR" LED (ref. 7 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up,
the "RECORD" LED (ref. 4 – Fig. 1, page 132) starts to flash, and the following message is shown on the display.
4) Make the announcement speaking into the console microphone (ref. 24 – Fig. 1, page 132).
5) Terminate the recording in manual or automatic mode, as described below.
5a) To terminate the recording manually before the maximum time available has expired, press "CLEAR". The "RECORD" and "CLEAR"
LEDs go off, and the last message before going into the menu returns to the display (normally "COMMUNICATION ON"). The mes-
sage will be recorded up to the moment recording was stopped ("CLEAR" key). and stored in the memory of the console.
5a1) To make a new recording, cancelling the previous one, proceed as described in point (1).
5b) To terminate the recording automatically, wait until the available time expires (about 30 seconds). When the recording stops, the
"CLEAR" LED (ref. 7 – Fig. 1, page 132) remains lit, the "RECORD" LED (ref. 4 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up in continuous mode, and
following message is shown on the display.
5b1) To make a new recording, cancelling the previous one, proceed as described in point (3).
5b2) To save the message recorded and exit from the menu, press "CLEAR". The "RECORD" and "CLEAR" LEDs go off.
