Drying Meat
1. Remove any fat and gristle from the meat. Then cut the
meat into narrow strips.
2. Marinate the meat for 6 to 8 hours.
3. Place the strips on the grid(s).
4. Here too it is possible to use five grids at the same time.
5. Replace the lid and close the machine.
6. Switch on the machine using the ON/OFF switch.
Here too the drying time depends on the ambient temperature.
Meat requires approx. 8 to 10 hours.
Before checking whether your food has dried sufficiently, you
should store it in a cool place for a short time. Dried foods
should be solid to the touch. Please ensure that there are no
soft areas.
Drying Petals and Herbs
1. Cut the flowers/herbs in the late afternoon if possible and
not early in the morning as there is then too much moisture
(dew) on them.
2. Please select flowers or herbs which feel solid and have
not completely opened. Flowers which have opened
completely lose their petals during the drying process. In
the case of herbs you can use both complete stems and
individual leaves.
3. Spread the flowers thinly over the grid(s).
4. Now proceed as described under points 7 to 8 ("Drying
Fruit and Vegetables").
5. In order to produce a potpourri from your dry petals, store
the dried fl owers or petals in an airtight, sealable container
(preferably made of glass).
