Lighting
It is recommended to carry out all the manual operations using the glove supplied.
16.1 First lighting
The first lighting (after the installation or at the beginning of the season) must be carried out with reduced loads (~ 2 kg/h)
keeping the product on for at least 4 hours at low rate. Proceed with these feed rates for at least three days before using
the appliance at its full capacity. This will allow for the evaporation of any moisture accumulated in the refractory elements
when not used.
During the first lighting of the fireplace it is possible that unpleasant odours or smoke caused by evaporation or drying of
some materials used may be generated. This phenomenon will gradually disappear.
For this reason during the first lighting it is recommended to maintain the premises well airy.
16.2 Lighting
The fireplace is preferably supplied with well seasoned beech wood, in commercial size of 25, 33 cm. The recommended
humidity is 25%.
Each type of wood has different characteristics that also affect the combustion efficiency.
It is absolutely forbidden to use any type of coal, wood treated with protective substances, cardboard and paper (the latter
can be only used to light the fire).
- Open the sliding door, using the appropriate glove provided, by holding the handle and pushing it upwards (for the models
with manual opening) or by acting on the control panel (for the models with automatic opening).
- Using the cold handle supplied (M) open the primary air adjustment all the way (+) (Fig. 5.2). (This operation is valid only
for machines with natural convection; in other models the management is completely automatic.)
- Carefully lay the pieces of wood in the combustion chamber, taking care not to totally cover the slits of the grid (G) (Fig. 5.2).
- Place a natural fire-igniter on the pile of wood.
- Add on top of the stack strips of wood end crossed between them.
- Light the fire-igniter from above.
- Close the door and make sure it is closed properly.
- Keep the air intake open to ensure a high and bright flame.
- Reduce the air outlet opening using the handle cold (M) (Fig. 5.2) only when a good ember base has formed.
