2. I ntended use
The ultraviolet light emitting from the UVA tubes attracts insects such as
mosquitos or gnats, which are then killed quickly and painlessly by the in-
tegrated high voltage mesh. The dead insects fall into the collection tray on
the base of the device. The collection tray can be easily removed, emptied
and cleaned.
3. Technical data
• Voltage: 220 – 240 V, 50/60 Hz
• Power consumption: 4 W
• Effective area: 50 m²
• Voltage at the electrodes: 800 – 1.000 V
4. N otes on operation
For the most successful results, please keep some points in mind when star-
ting up and using the device. Insects are known to be attracted by light and
odour.
1. Hang or place the device in a spot somewhere in the room that is as dark
place possible and far away from another light source.
2. Make sure that there are no people or food nearby as they would likewise
attract insects and this may reduce success of the device.
3. Insects avoid drafts, so do not hang the device in the window. Close any
windows and doors.
4. Start the device in the evening. The device should be used when people
are not present. Mosquitos are attracted to smells, light or colour. If smells
are excluded, it is more likely that the mosquito will be attracted to the
UV light. Turn the device on 30 to 60 minutes before going to sleep; as
soon as you go to bed, place the lamp in the hallway; this will keep more
mosquitos away.
The function of attracting flying insects is only given to insects that react
to light.
