8. Take baby and lie him down in the middle of
this fanned out band, his head against your
chest. Put his bottom into it first, then his
legs.
9. Pull this band back up onto your shoulder-
baby should be lying as if in a hammock.
10. Bring the outside band back up onto your
other shoulder, ensuring that it is fanned out
around your baby.
11,12. Pull the outside pouch up, over and
around your baby.
II. DOUBLE CROSS CARRY
POUCH INSIDE

1. Holding the top edge of the wrap, place the
centre (Red Castle label) against your chest.
2. Wrap it around your body and cross the ends
behind you.
GB
3. Still holding the wrap by the top edge so as
not to twist the material, bring the ends back
over your shoulders.
4. You have made a pouch around your waist.
5. Hold baby against your right shoulder and
with your left hand open the pouch from
underneath. Slide baby down into the pouch
and place his legs around your waist.
6. Whilst holding baby against you with one
hand, use your other hand to hold one side
of the wrap at the top edge and fan it out.
Pull it tight. Then holding the material at the
bottom edge, tighten it again. Now hold both
the tightened sides of the wrap plus baby in
the other hand, and in the same way tighten
the other side of the wrap.
7. Cross the ends of the wrap over your baby's
back and pass them under his legs.
8. Bring them around your waist and tie them in
a tight double knot in your back.
9,10. Fan out both bands of material around
your baby's back starting with the inside
band. Check that the bands criss-cross
between his legs and are fanned out to
behind his knees.
11. For extra support you can pull the pouch up
level with baby's ears. It is also possible to
slip his legs inside the wrap.

III. DOUBLE CROSS CARRY
POUCH OUTSIDE
This position can be used from birth and is
very useful if you wish to take baby out of the
carrier without untying it.
1. Holding the wrap at the top edge, place the
centre (Red Castle label) against your chest.
2. Wrap it around your body and cross the ends
behind you.
3. Still holding the wrap by the top edge so as
not to twist the material, bring the ends back
over your shoulders.
4,5,6. Slip the ends of the wrap under the pouch
you have made, cross one over the other and
bring them around your waist to your back.
Check that the material is not twisted before
tying it in a double knot.
After a few trials you will know what size of
pouch to make before you tie the ends tightly.
7. Lower the outside band down to your elbow.
Hold baby against the same shoulder and
let him slide down inside the crossed bands
starting with the inside one, then the outside
one. His legs should be around your waist.
Check that both bands criss-cross between
baby's legs.
8. Fan out both bands of the wrap around your
baby starting with the inside band. The
material should reach the back of baby's
knees.
9,10. Pull up the outside pouch over baby's legs
and his back. You can leave his legs in or out
of the wrap and for extra head support you
can pull the pouch up level with his ears.
IV. HIP CARRY
This position can be used once your child
holds his head up well (around 4 months)
1. Take the wrap in the centre (the Red Castle
label) and lie it across over your shoulder.
2. Cross the ends over on the opposite hip. The
end which comes from behind your back should
lie on top of the one coming over your chest.
3. Wrap the ends around your waist. Check that
the material is not twisted before tying a flat
double knot at the back of your hip.
