Baking waffles
Proceed as follows:
1. Grease the baking surfaces (8,9) be-
fore every use - not before every waf-
fle - using a little vegetable oil.
2. Close the cover (3).
3. Set the temperature control (5) to the
desired level.
At level 1, the baking time is about 5
minutes, depending on the batter.
At level 5, the baking time is about 2
minutes, depending on the batter.
4. Put the mains plug into the socket.
The red mains indicator lamp (1) lights
and the appliance begins heating up.
5. Wait a few minutes until the green in-
dicator lamp (2) lights up. Open the
cover and place about 60 ml of batter
(approx. 1 ladle) at the centre of each
of the lower baking surfaces. About
2 cm of the outer baking surface to-
wards the edge should remain un-
covered.
6. After 1 - 2 minutes, briefly open the
cover to see if the waffle has reached
the desired degree of browning. If it is
still too light, close the cover again and
continue baking until the waffle is
golden brown.
7. When the waffles are done, remove
them.
8. Now place the batter for the next waf-
fles into the appliance and repeat the
baking process until you have made
the desired number of waffles.
9. Allow the appliance to cool down.
10. Clean the appliance as described in
the chapter Cleaning and Care
(page 23).
The first waffles may possibly stick to the
upper baking surfaces. This is less
common after several baking cycles.
