Vanilla waffles
Use the following ingredients for about
10 waffles:
180 g soft butter
180 g sugar
1 l milk
500 g flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
2 pkg. vanilla sugar
Proceed as follows:
1. Stir the soft butter with the sugar and
vanilla sugar until creamy.
2. Stir in the eggs gradually.
3. Last, add the flour, baking powder and
milk and stir to form a batter that is
smooth and thick.
Lüttich waffles
Use the following ingredients for about
10 waffles:
200 g melted butter
200 g sugar (coarse granulated sugar,
sugar crystals)
650 ml milk
400 g flour
3 eggs
1 pkg. fresh yeast
1 pkg. vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
Proceed as follows:
1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm milk.
2. Place flour, salt and the vanilla sugar
in a bowl and stir together well with the
yeast-milk mixture and the eggs.

3. Allow the batter to rest for 40 minutes
in a warm place.
4. Last, stir in the melted but no longer
hot butter and the sugar crystals.
Chocolate waffles
Use the following ingredients for about
8 waffles:
150 g soft butter or margarine
120 g sugar
300 ml milk
150 g flour
6 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
2 pkg. vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
2 Tbls. chocolate shavings
Proceed as follows:
1. Separate the eggs.
2. Stir the soft butter with the sugar, va-
nilla sugar and salt until creamy.
3. Add the egg yolks gradually while stir-
ring constantly.
4. Mix the flour with the baking powder
and add to batter alternating with the
milk, stirring well.
5. Beat the egg whites to a stiff con-
sistency, add to the batter along with
the chocolate shavings and fold in with
a large spoon.
