Instruction manual for Filter Balls
This instruction manual relates to the product stated above. It contains
important information on using your product for the first time and how to op-
erate it. Carefully read through the instruction manual - particularly the safety
instructions - before using this product. Non-compliance with this instruction
manual may lead to major injuries or damage to your product. The instruction
manual is based on standards and regulations applicable within the Europe-
an Union. If the product is being used abroad, please follow any country-spe-
cific guidelines and laws. Store the instruction manual in a safe location for
later consultation and submission to third parties, where applicable.
Intended use
The product is exclusively for private use and not suitable for commercial
use. Use your product only as described in this manual. Any other use is
considered improper use and may lead to personal injury or damage to prop-
erty. This item is not a toy. The manufacturer or retailer assumes no liability
for damage resulting from improper or incorrect use.

Check scope of delivery
NOTE! Risk of damage! The product may be damaged if you open the
packaging with a sharp knife or other sharp objects without due care and
attention. Please open the packaging very carefully.

■ Check that all included items have been delivered in full.
■ Check whether the item, or parts thereof, show signs of damage. If there
is damage, do not use the product. Get in contact with the service address
stated at the end of the manual.
Can I use the Filter Balls in any filter system?
Yes. In principle, Filter Balls can be used with all standard sand filter sys-
tems.
Before using for the first time, check whether the Filter Balls could run out of
the filter container and into larger sized pipes. This must not be allowed to
occur during backwashing, rinsing or filtering.
In this case, precautions have to be taken (grid, etc.).
Use
If you have used sand as a filter medium until now, remove all the sand and
clean the filter container without leaving any residue. Sand residues can
affect the effect of the Filter Balls.
When re-filling, use the Filter Balls instead of the sand in the designated filter
area.
Make sure that two chamber systems do not get any Filter Balls into the
fresh water area. Otherwise, this could lead to blockages in the filter system
and in the pipelines.
How many of the Filter Balls do I have to use?
One sales package has a content of 700 g. This corresponds to a quantity of
25 kg filter sand.
When using Filter Balls, do I need to use any
additional filter sand?
No.
How should the Filter Balls be disposed of?
Bring the Filter Balls to your nearest waste collection centre. Filter Balls are
made of polyethylene and are 100% recyclable.
How effective are Filter Balls?
If you use standard filter systems with quartz sand, particles with a size
of>40µm are filtered out of the pool water. If you use Filter Balls instead of
using quartz sand in your existing filter system, you will filter
size of >1,5µm out of your pool water.
When using Filter Balls, can the system be
backflushed?
Filter Balls have a very high dirt absorption capacity. The dirt particles adhere
very strongly within the Filter Balls and promote even more effective and
finer filtering. In standard filter systems, the performance of the filter pump is
not sufficient to wash out the dirt. Therefore, we advise against backwashing
the filter system when using Filter Balls. We recommend washing by hand.
Regularly check the degree of soiling and clean the Filter Balls as required.
Storage
The product must be thoroughly dried after cleaning. After which, it is to be
stored in a dry location protected from frost.
Disposal
Disposing of packaging: The packaging material has been selected in view
of environmental concerns and disposability and is therefore recyclable. The
paper and cardboard can be recycled, as can the plastic coverings.
Disposing of the product: Applicable in the European Union and other
European states with systems in place for collecting and sorting recyclable
materials. Dispose of the product in accordance with any laws and regula-
tions applicable at your place of residence.
