tool is maintained.
IV - Additional safety rules
for demolition hammers
The small chip and particles separated while operating
the power tool, as well touching its moving parts and
loss of control could cause severe physical injuries, and
noise loading from continuous operation could damage
the operator's hearing if the Safety Instructions and the
below-mentioned rules are not observed.
▪ While operating the machine, always hold it firmly
with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The
power tool is guided more secure with both hands.
▪ Always use the auxiliary handle supplied with the
machine. Loss of control can cause personal injury.
▪ Take caution to prevent dust inhalation. Some mate-
rials contain chemicals which may be toxic. Wear a
dust mask.
▪ Do not process materials containing asbestos. As-
bestos is considered carcinogenic.
▪ During operation provide eye protection to prevent
eyes from exposure to flying particles. Wear gog-
gles.
▪ During operation the chisel gets hot. Do not touch
the chisel or parts close to it during operation and im-
mediately after that; they may be extremely hot. You
may get serious burns. Always wear thickly padded
gloves when replacing the tool.
▪ Wear hearing protection when using the tool for ex-
tended periods. Exposure to high intensity noise can
cause hearing loss.
▪ Wear a safety helmet to avoid danger of falling chips.
▪ Wear safety boots to protect your feet.
▪ Prior to operation use suitable detectors to determine
if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the lo-
cal utility company for assistance. Contact with elec-
tric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Dam-
aging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating
a water line causes property damage or may cause
electric shock.
▪ Hold the power tool only by the insulated gripping
surfaces when performing an operation where the
cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own
cord. Contact with a "live" wire will make exposed
metal parts of the power tool "live" and shock the op-
erator.
▪ Always keep the cord away from the working area of
the power tool.
▪ Never use a power tool with a damaged cord. Do not
touch the damaged cord but unplug the machine im-
mediately. Damaged cords create a risk of electric
shock.
▪ Power tools operated outdoors or in premises with
high humidity, shall be supplied through residual cur-
rent device (RCD) with maximum actuating current
of 30 mA. Use only extension cords with appropriate

▪ When working at a highly elevated location, pay at-
tention to persons and articles below. Otherwise you
may cause serious injury or property damage.
▪ Always wait until the machine has come to a com-
plete standstill before placing it down. The tool insert
can jam and lead to loss of control over the power
tool.
▪ Under normal operation, the tool is designed to pro-
duce vibration. The fasteners can come loose easily,
causing a breakdown or accident. Check tightness of
screws carefully before operation.
▪ In cold weather or when the tool has not been used
for a long time, let the tool warm up for a while by
operating it under no load. This will loosen up the
lubrication. Without proper warm-up, hammering op-
eration is difficult.

VI - Operation
This power tool is supplied from single-phase alternat-
ing current mains only. It is double insulated according
to EN 60745-1 and can be connected to grounded or not
grounded sockets. This power tool is radio suppressed in
compliance with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.
This power tool is designed for chiselling, chipping and
demolishing concrete, rocks and asphalt with high effi-
ciency.
priOr tO initial OpEratiOn
▪ Always check the position of ON/OFF switch. The
power tool must be connected to the power supply
socket only when this switch is in OFF position. If the
plug is connected to a receptacle while the power
switch is in the ON position, the power tool will start
operating immediately, which could cause a serious
accident.
▪ Make sure the cord and the plug are in order. If the
replacement of the supply cord is necessary, this has
to be done by the manufacturer or his agent in order
to avoid a safety hazard.
▪ Switch off and unplug the machine prior to any pro-
cedure on the power tool or in case of mains drop
out.
▪ In case of work area remote from the power source,
use as short as practicable extension cord with prop-
er cross-section.
▪ Make sure the auxiliary handle is properly mounted
