Before use

1. Check that all screws are fully tightened.
2. Check that the plug nipple is closed using the protective
cap provided.
3. Check whether plastic parts are cracked or damaged in
any other way.
4. Check whether the belt can be opened and closed freely.
5. Prepare the compressed air breathing apparatus for use
6. Set the control valve to a ventilation rate of 0 l/min (see
chapter 3.2 on page 8).
7. Connect the compressed air breathing apparatus with the
control valve or the lung demand valves and open the
compressed air supply
No breathing air may flow out.
CAUTION
!
Hearing or feeling breathing air flowing out of lung de-
mand valves and the control valve or connection com-
ponents indicates leaks that must be repaired.(see
chapter 4.1 on page 9).
NOTICE
i
i
Depending on the breathing air supply used, the corre-
sponding coupling adapter must be used.(see "Con-
nection options and coupling adapters for breathing air
supply" on page 8).
8. Set all ventilation rates on the control valve in sequence.
For all ventilation rates an airflow must be present that can
be heard or felt. As the flow rate increases the outflow
sound must increase.
9. Check the function of the lung demand valves and the
compressed air breathing apparatus.
10. Close the compressed air supply and open the control
valve briefly to release pressure in the system.
11. Uncouple the compressed air breathing apparatus again.
12. Step into the chemical protection suit
protective suit up to your waist.
13. Close the belt.
NOTICE
i
i
In order to guarantee strain relief, the belt must be
closed.
14. Continue to don the chemical protection suit
15. Connect the compressed air breathing apparatus with the
control valve or the lung demand valves and open the
compressed air supply.

16. Put on face piece
and connect to the lung demand valves.

During use

1. Connect the external air supply to the control valve plug
nipple.
2. Set ventilation rate on the control valve:
Increasing from 0 to 5 l/min and change from 5 l/min to
30 l/min and back is done without raising up the spring-
loaded block (2).
Reducing flow from
5 l/min to 0 l/min or
increasing flow from
30 l/min to 120 l/min:
raise up spring-loaded
block (2) and turn the
adjustment ring for the
ventilation rate (1).
