2.2.2.11. Practical Information
Alcoholic beverages: The stained area should first be washed in cold water and then rubbed with
glycerin and water and rinsed with a mixture of vinegar and water.
Shoe polish: The stained area should be gently rubbed using detergent without damaging the fabric
and then rinsed. If the stain does not come out, it should be rubbed with a mixture of one part alcohol
(96%) and two parts water, and then washed in hot water.
Tea and Coffee: Stretch the stained area of fabric over the plughole of a sink and pour water as hot as
the type of fabric can withstand through it.
If the garment can be bleached, wash it with bleach.
Chocolate and Cocoa: After soaking the fabric in cold water and rubbing it using soap or detergent,
wash it at a temperature that the type of fabric can withstand. If there are visible oil stains, wash using
hydrogen peroxide (3%).
Tomato sauce: After having scrubbed the dried substances without damaging the fabric, soak in water
for 30 minutes and then rinse and wash with detergent.
Cooked egg: Remove the dry egg residue from the fabric and then wash using a sponge or a damp soft
cloth. Rub with detergent, wash with diluted bleach.
Grease and oil stains: First, remove any residue. Rub the stain with detergent and wash it with hot
water and soap.
Mustard: Apply glycerin to the stained area. Rub with detergent and wash. If the stain does not come
out, wash with alcohol. (For synthetic and colored fabrics, a mixture of one part alcohol to two parts
water should be used.)
Fruit: Stretch the stained fabric over the opening of a container and pour cold water over it. Do not
pour hot water on the stain. Wash with cold water and apply glycerin. Leave to rest for 1-2 hours with
a few drops of white vinegar and wash.
Grease stain: Wash the stained area with detergent. If the fabric allows the use of bleach, wash with
bleach. Wash woolens with alcohol. (For colored fabrics, a mixture of 1 part pure alcohol to 2 parts
water)
