4. Adjust the facepiece.
5. Stretch evenly tight; first the neck straps, then the temple straps
(figure D on page 3).

User seal check of the facepiece

1. Close the connector with the palm of your hand.
2. Inhale to create a negative pressure in the facepiece. Hold your
breath. There must be no noticeable air ingress.
Otherwise check if the facepiece fit is correct.
The exhaled air must escape through the exhalation valve without
resistance.
3. Repeat the user seal check twice.
4. Connect lung demand valve of the self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Alternative user seal check, which allows you to keep the lung demand
valve connected to the self-contained breathing apparatus and the
facepiece:
1. Close the cylinder valve.
2. Inhale all air from the system until a negative pressure is created
in the facepiece.. There must be no noticeable air ingress.
Otherwise check if the facepiece fit is correct.
The exhaled air must escape through the exhalation valve without
resistance.
3. Open the cylinder valve again.
4. Repeat the user seal check twice.
CAUTION
If the facepiece is not airtight, this could result in physical injury.
► Report to operation only with an airtight facepiece!

During use

Low temperatures
Use "kp comfort" anti-fog agent to prevent fogging of the visor.
High temperatures/variation in thermal stress
The anti-scratch coating may dissolve in some places. The facepiece
is fully serviceable until the end of the operation. Replace visor after
use.
CAUTION
If the facepiece is damaged (e.g. bubbles in the visor), this could result
in physical injury.
► In case of any damage immediately leave the danger zone.
Chemicals
Some substances may be absorbed by the material of the facepiece
and may possibly diffuse into it. For further information please contact
your local Dräger representative.
Potentially explosive areas
Use a water screen or treat the facepiece meticulously with antistatic
spray.
4.4

After use

Doff the facepiece in a safe environment:
a. Press the two buttons on the lung demand valve and pull the
lung demand valve out of the facepiece connector.
b. Push the sliding buckles of the bottom hairnet straps forward
with your thumb and loosen the straps (figure E on page 3).
c. Pull the facepiece away from the face over the head.
NOTICE
Do not pull the facepiece at the connector to prevent damaging the
facepiece!
