Operation
Door Locking
The doors can be locked to avoid confidential papers from
being taken out of the paper tray by other people when the
shredder is left to operate automatically.
Locking
Press the "Lock" button and the LCD screen will change (fig.6).
On the display, "Enter Password" is flashing. Enter a 4-digit
password. Be sure to remember the password. The code is
displayed. Press "Enter" button.
The message on the display then changes from "Cover Unlock"
to "Cover Lock".
During the locking process "Cover Lock" flashes in the display.
Both doors will be securely locked mechanically. The locking
process takes approximately 3 seconds. When the locking
process is complete, "Cover Lock" stops flashing on the display.
If the locking process cannot be completed within 7 seconds
the entire locking process is cancelled.
Unlocking
Press the "Unlock" button and the LCD screen will change
(fig.7).
On display "Enter Password" is flashing. Enter your 4-digit
password. The code is displayed on the screen. Press the
"Enter" button.
On the display the message changes from "Cover Lock" to
"Cover Unlock".
During the unlocking process "Cover Unlock" flashes in
the display. Both doors will be unlocked mechanically. The
unlocking process takes approximately 3 seconds. When the
unlocking process is complete, "Cover Unlock" stops flashing
on the display.
Cancel Password
If the locking or unlocking process needs to be interrupted,
press the "Cancel" button.
If you make an error inputting the password, press the "Lock"
or "Unlock" button to reset the password entry (figs.8a & 8b).
Unlocking switch (fig.9)
In the unlikely event that the shredder needs to be unlocked
manually using a key, an unlocking switch is located on the
right hand side of the machine.
Turn the key from the red point position to the green point
position. The locking is reset and the paper tray doors can be
opened. The unlocking process takes approximately 3 seconds.
The password will be reset.
Turn the key back to the red point position for normal operation.
Switching the shredder "OFF"
Press the "STOP" button to stop shredding – the machine is
still in standby mode. To turn off the power completely, use the
switch on the right hand side of the machine.


LCD Operation

Overload Mode
When the shredder jams during shredding, the motor will
stop running and an audible alarm will sound. The "Overload"
message will flash on the LCD display (fig.10a).
Pressing the Reverse button and Reverse will appear on the
LCD display (fig.10b).
Once the jammed paper is cleared, the motor will start running
for three seconds to clear any remaining pieces of paper. Once
clear "Auto" will appear on the LCD display. If you cannot
remove the jam by pressing the Reverse button, tear off any
remaining paper and press the Forward button. Repeat the
above process until the paper is completely cleared through
and "Auto" appears on the LCD display.
Cabinet Door Open Safety Mode
When the cabinet access door is opened during shredding, as
a safety precaution the shredder will automatically stop and
an alarm will sound. "Door Open" is indicated and the cabinet
access door open symbol will flash on the LCD display and the
paper tray doors will flash in the diagram (fig. 12). To resume
normal function, close the door and the "Auto" message will
reappear on the LCD display (fig.11).
Paper Tray Doors Open Safety Mode
When the paper tray doors are opened while shredding as a
safety precaution the shredder will automatically stop and an
alarm will sound. "Door Open" is indicated on the LCD display.
To resume normal function, close the door and the "Auto"
message will reappear on the LCD display (fig.12).
Waste Basket Full Mode
If the bin is full, the shredder will stop and an alarm will sound.
"Bin Full" is indicated and the bin full symbol will flash on the
LCD display. After the waste basket has been emptied, placed
back into the cabinet and the door closed, the LCD display
will show "Auto" and the shredder will return to standby mode
(fig.13).
Cool Down Mode
If the shredder overheats, the overheat symbol will flash on the
LCD display and the shredder will stop. The shredder will not
resume normal operation until the temperature of the motor
cools down to a safe level. At this point "Auto" will reappear on
the LCD display (fig.14).
