Abbreviations
2-wire
The lead resistance is recorded as an error in the measurement.
3-wire
With a cable length of 30 m or longer, measuring errors can occur.

2. Safety
WARNING!
Before installation, commissioning and operation, ensure that the appropriate
miniature resistance thermometer has been selected in terms of measuring
range, design, specific measuring conditions and appropriate wetted-parts
materials (corrosion). Non-observance can result in serious injury and/or
damage to the equipment.
Depending on the type of application, the electrical connection must be
protected against mechanical damage.
Further important safety instructions can be found in the individual chapters of
these operating instructions.
2.1 Intended use
The model TR21 resistance thermometer has been specifically designed for the
measurement of temperatures in vessels or pipes, in the range of -50 ... +150 °C
(-58 ... + 302 °F) or -50 ... +250 °C (-58 ... +482 °F), which are used in sanitary applications.
Here, the thermowell is used to protect the temperature sensor from the process conditions.
Furthermore, the detachable connection from the thermowell in the TR21-A and TR21-B
variants enables the removal of the temperature sensor without having to shut down the
WIKA operating instructions model TR21
