USE
Table 1 shows the performance characteristics of the MAC33 and MAC22 hammers. These high-performance tools are
designed for light jobs such as cutting, descaling, chipping and deburring and must only be used for the purposes
listed. Do not use for other purposes.
These tools are suitable for use in car body shops, carpenter's shops, construction sites, foundries and stone masonry
workshops. It is fitted with a regulator to vary the frequency and the stroke intensity.
The MAC33 and MAC22 hammers are not suitable for use in medical environments, in food processing applications or
where there is the possibility of contact with food. These tools are not insulated against accidental contact with
electrical power supplies or live components. These tools are NOT designed for use in explosive atmospheres.
For proper usage we recommend that the following instructions are respected.
STARTING THE TOOL
Press the start button and keep it pressed throughout operation.
The tool will stop if the button is released.
REPLACING THE CHISEL
In the ordinary kit, the hammer is supplied with the chisel fitted (code 3285902 - see Accessories Chapter). If this is to
be replaced with another one more suitable for the work to be done, proceed as follows:
disconnect the compressed air supply;
unscrew the spring C, turning it anticlockwise (fig.3);
pull out the chisel;
insert the new chisel and push thoroughly onto the clamp;
screw the spring in its housing again.
CAUTION. When changing the chisel tool you must refit the retaining spring clip. Failure to refit retaining
spring will cause the chisel tool to be projected outwards when it is powered up. Projected tools
could injure a person within a radius of 3 metres around the hammer.
CAUTION. Using an incorrect chisel tool can damage the tool seat and the retaining spring. Using an incorrect tool will
cause rapid wear of the hammer. Using the incorrect tool can lead to personal injury. Only use OBER
chisels to maintain the tool in working order.
ADJUSTMENT OF FREQUENCY AND INTESITY OF THE STROKES (For MAC33 only)
It is possible to vary the type of work by rotating the adjustment screw clockwise (to decrease stroke frequency) or
anticlockwise (increase) (fig.4).
