4.1
Overnight Shutdown
1. For overnight shutdown, stop the pump at the bottom
of its stroke to prevent fluid from drying on the exposed
displacement rod and damaging the throat packing.
2. Relieve the pressure by following all the steps in the Pressure
Relief Procedure, section 3.1.
3. Flush the pump per the steps in the next section.

Flushing the Pump
The pump should be flushed:
A. Before the first use
B. When changing colors or fluids
C. Before storing the pump
Flush with a fluid that is compatible with the fluid you are pumping
and with the wetted parts in your system. Check with your fluid
manufacturer or supplier for recommended flushing fluids and
flushing frequency.

To reduce the risk of injury, always follow the
Pressure Relief Procedure when instructed.
Flushing
1. Relieve the pressure by following all the steps in the Pressure
Relief Procedure, section 3.1.
2. Prepare the compatible flushing fluid.
3. Start the pump. Always use the lowest possible operating
pressure when flushing.
4. Flush the system until clear solvent flows from the fluid outlet.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance is necessary to ensure the
prolonged useful life of the transfer pump. Follow
the steps below as necessary.
5.1
Daily checks
Before starting pump operation, be sure to conduct the following
check before each use. If any irregularity is found, DO NOT start
running the pump until the cause of irregularity has been found and
corrective measures have been taken.
1. Verity the drain flow through the air filter.
2. In case suing a lubricator, verify the quantity of lubricating oil.
3. Make sure that there is no leakage of fluid from any
connection part or the pump.
4. Make sure that there are no cracks in the pump casing or
piping.
5. Check the tightness of every bolt of the pump.
6. Make sure that the connection parts of the piping and
peripheral equipment are not loose.
7. Make sure that the time has not elapsed for replacing any
parts of the pump are to be replaced at regular intervals.
5.2

Check the oil level in the oil cup

Add appropriate amount of suitable lubricant. Total amount should
be 4 ounces (1/2 cup) in order to to prolong the life of the O-ring and
packing.
5.3

Check the Packing and O-ring

After a period of time the packing and the O-ring below the oil cup
could be loosened. Use the provided tool to turn the cup clockwise
to tighten. This tightening will also tighten the O-ring and packing
and prevent leakage.
