6. Operation
Inserting the batteries
First you must remove the battery cover from underneath the laser. When the
battery cover has been removed, you have access to the battery housing.
4 AA batteries are used for the FXL. Alkaline batteries are recommended for
optimum operating time.
Operation
• Switch on the laser by pressing the On and Off button.
• Press the button once: for 2 laser beams.
• Press the button twice: for 4 laser beams.
7. Checking and adjusting the FXL
Checking the accuracy of the laser
For this inspection, you need at least 1.5 m
Place the instrument on a flat and even floor and switch all beams on.
Measure exactly 91 cm along the vertical line of the laser crossing,
beginning at the centre point of the laser crossing. Then mark this point
A (fig. 6).
Measure exactly 1.22 m along the 90° reference of the laser crossing,
starting at the centre point of the instrument and mark this point B.
Measure the distance from point A to B. This distance should be 1.52 m.
