Before Use
WARNING: Always adhere to all safety advice and instructions
for any power tool used in conjunction with this product.
Operation
WARNING: NEVER hold the jig by hand when drilling; it must
be clamped securely to the workpiece and a suitable workbench.
Failure to do so could damage the tool and/or cause serious
personal injury.
Note: Generally, set the jig then set the drill depth. Ideally, the drill
tip should emerge close to the middle of the material being drilled.
1. Determine the thickness of the material to be drilled and position
the jig accordingly, then check the drilling angle (Fig. I–III)
Note: The drilling width can be adjusted by loosening the hex bolt
with the grub key, adjusting the jig to the required width using the
scale, then re-tightening the hex bolt (Fig. IV).
Note: For thinner material (Fig. I) move the jig forward and for
thicker material (Fig. III) move the jig back.
2. Lock the drill-depth collar (Fig. V) onto the drill bit at the required
drill depth
3. Using a pencil, mark a line at the front position of the jig (Fig. VI)
4. Clamp the jig to the timber and workbench using the pencilled
mark, and drill at high speed (Fig. VII) with the depth-set drill
Note: If the clamp does not have a large enough capacity, use an
additional clamp (Fig. VIII).
5. For additional pocket-holes, move the jig along the pencil line,
then clamp and drill (Fig. IX)
6. After drilling all the holes, the piece is ready for the pocket-hole
screws (Fig. X) and plugs. See the table below for recommended
screw size.
