3.2.2. OFF/RESET (requires key)

System stopped, deactivated; will not respond to any type of external or manual signal. It acts as a manual STOP for
fi refi ghters. The yellow FAULT indicator (8) is lit as a visual reminder that the system will not respond to external sig-
nals, such as fi re.
To RESET the unit after a fi re mode operation, hold the switch in the (OFF) position for 3 seconds, and then return to the
(AUTO) position. The green indicator (6) will lit, and the PDS CONTROL will be ready to respond to an emergency again.
In case the fi re signal persists, the system will re-activate its fi re mode.
This position is reserved for fi refi ghters. However, it is also useful for the commissioning or maintenance stages,
allowing the stops and resets that may be necessary.

3.2.3. ON (requires key)

When selecting this position, the fan will activate at the speed set by the speed selector switch (4). For the DUAL version,
which fan will activate depends on the position of the FAN selector (4a). The white (7 or 7a) and green (6) indicators will
lit. Remember that in the ON position, the system will not respond to external signals such as fi re.
This position is included for fi refi ghters. However, it is also useful for the commissioning or maintenance stages, for
example, allowing the minimum airfl ow to be regulated (checking for leaks) with the doors closed, or the air velocity
criteria through open doors.

* These units are suitable for operation at 50/60Hz input or output frequencies, although it is essential that the output Hz do not exceed the Hz indicated on the
fan nameplate. Increasing the output frequency above the fan rating invalidates the S&P warranty. See the corresponding fan manual for more information. See
Start-up section for more information on the parameters of this unit.
Note for accessories PDS REM & PDS REM DUAL: Remote panels REM y REM DUAL mimic the front panels of the PDS
CONTROL y PDS CONTROL DUAL units respectively. Their operation is identical.
Important: The SELECTOR switch supplied with the REM units is required to avoid confl icting commands for the ven-
tilation systems. It is recommended to install them next to the CONTROL units, in a position that enables REM unit. If
operation of the front panel on the CONTROL unit is required, the position of the SELECTOR must be changed. Otherwi-
se, the CONTROL front panel will not respond.

4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

4.1. PRIOR ASPECTS

Before connecting the PDS CONTROL unit to the dedicated supply, make sure that the unit's internal main switch is
turned off, and the mode selector is in the OFF position. Access the panel using the provided key.
The power supply for the PDS CONTROL units, depending on the model, will be single-phase 230V (L – N), or three-pha-
se 400V (R-S-T-N). The output supply to the fan or ventilation box will be three-phase. The use of frequency inverters
implies the need to make a correct earth connection (use the earth terminal block of the VSD). Also, it is recommended
to install a suitable differential switch. However, local electrical and fi re protection regulations should be followed and
the authorities should be consulted if in doubt.
The automatic activation signal of the PDS CONTROL will always be made through a volt-free contact, coming from a
fi re detection panel or from an external control system. It is recommended to read the electrical connection instructions
before any handling or connection of the unit.
The connection to the fan must be carried out following the indications defi ned on the terminal box label. All fans have
a sticker that describes the correct sense of rotation. In the event that the motor rotates in the opposite direction, two
phases must be properly reversed.

4.2. CABLE TYPES AND SECTION REFERENCE

The following table provides reference to help select a cable suitable to the characteristics of the installation, depending
on the power of the unit and fan to be installed, for a 400V mains supply. The unit is confi gured with SOP = 10 by default.
