4. Rebating mode (Fig 13)
- Mount the parallel guide (20) and the rebating depth stop (21).
- Guide the planer applying sideward supporting pressure.
- Carry out the planing procedure several times until the requested rebating depth is reached.
5. Beveling mode (Fig 14)
There are three V-Grooves (13) in the front base plate that enable you to plane edges at an angle of 45° for a
smooth finish.
- Place the required V-Grooves (13) on the edge of the workpiece at an angle of 45°.
- Switch on the tool and wait until it reaches full speed.
- Move the electric planer along the edge of the workpiece.
- To achieve a good quality result, keep the feed speed and angle constant.
CAUTION!
Always pull out the mains power plug before starting any cleaning work.
CAUTION!
Repair, modification and inspection must be carried out by a LEMAN Authorized Service Center.
In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in each country
must be observed.
1. Cleaning and maintenance
- Clean the device immediately each time you have finished using it.
- Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
- Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
- Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents;
these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment.
- Ensure that no water can seep into the device.
- Ensure easy operation of the park rest (10) and clean it regularly.
- Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could result in serious hazard.
2. Changing the belt (Fig 15 & 16)
The drive belt must be replaced if it is worn.
- Undo the 2 screws and remove the belt cover (8).
- Remove the worn belt drive and clean the two belt pulleys.
- Place the new drive belt on the small belt pulley and pull the belt onto the large belt pulley while turning the
planing drum. Ensure that the longitudinal grooves on the drive belt are in the guide grooves on the drive wheels.
- Fit the belt cover (8) and secure it with the 2 screws.
3. Changing the carbon brushes (Fig 17 & 18)
The Motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. When they become worn to or near the "wear
limit", it could result in motor trouble. The power tool must then be sent to an after-sales service agent.
When you have to replacement the carbon brushes by yourself, please proceed as following:
- Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the same time.
- Use only identical carbon brushes.
- Undo the four screws and remove the motor cover (11).
- Take out the worn carbon brushes, and then insert the new ones.
- Reinstall the motor cover (11), while being careful to ensure it does not pinch the lead wire, and secure it firmly
with the four screws.
- Check carefully that the cutter head guard (22) can move freely and can return to its rest position. Untight the
screw a little bit if necessary.
