Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the spare wheel.
3. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:

In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom

Covering of the rear end plate
-
Right-hand and left-hand side covering
-
•
Inside the vehicle
Access strips, left side
-
bottom panelling of the dashboard – Body Computer (NPL)
-
Lower A-pillar covering
-
Covering of the rear wheel case on the left side

4. Drill a hole of 39 mm for the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/6) through the rear end plate on the
left-hand side of the spare wheel well in a suitable flat place.
5. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the socket end of the cable harness through the cable
leadthrough to the outside and from there to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/7).
6. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/6).
Installing the socket
7. Press the contact insert into the socket housing and push the rubber grommet towards the
socket.
8. Screw the socket onto the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/7) using the supplied screws and nuts.
Connecting the tail lights
9. Lay the cable end with the right-side marking to the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/9).
10. Disconnect the plug-in connector of the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/9) and connect it to the
matching counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
11. Lay the cable end with the left-side marking along the rear end plate to the left-hand tail light
(Fig. 1/4).
12. Disconnect the plug-in connector of the left tail light (Fig. 1/4) and connect it to the matching
counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
Note
Connect the 2-pin plug with its matching counterpart on the vehicle's cable harness (Fig. 1/5)
on the left side at the rear in the luggage trunk on vehicles with PDC.
