Assembly instruction
Installing the monitor (MD2010, MD2020, MD2030,
MD2040 & D2-55)
1.
Drill an 8 mm diameter hole in the exhaust hose,
about 70 mm below the lower edge of the exhaust
bend. NOTE! Drill the hole between the helical steel
wire reinforcements in the hose.
2.
Remove the hose.
3.
Install the sensor body (2) with a washer (3) in the
hose. Install the other washer (3) and the nut (4).
The groove in the washer must face the hose. Tigh-
ten the nut securely. Install the hose and hose
clamps.
4.
Install the monitor (1) in the threaded hole in the sen-
sor body, and tighten securely.
Preparing the engine cables.
1.
Identify the coolant water temperature monitor for
each engine (C) and disconnect the brown/white ca-
ble from the monitor. The D2-55 engine has a con-
nector with steel catch which must be pressed at the
same time as the connector is pulled apart.
2.
Cut this brown/white cable off about 5 cm (2") from
the end (B): On the D2-55 engine, this means about
5 cm (2") from the connector.
3.
Take the short cable and install spade terminal (6)
and then the insulator (8).
4.
Install a blade terminal on the cut-off engine cable.

monitor and the coolant temperature monitor in a sui-
table way. Use strip clamps.
3.
Connect the spade terminal on the short cable and
the blade terminal on the engine cable to the double
blade terminal (5) on the cable harness. Insulate the
joint with insulating tape (D).

to the coolant temperature monitor.
MD2010, MD2020, MD2030 & MD2040

Identify the alternator for each engine and unscrew
the nut from the terminal marked B - .

Connect the ring terminal (5) from the cable harness,
with a washer (9) on each side, to the alternator B -
terminal.
3.
Screw the locknut back securely over the 3 ring ter-
