6a.4 REMOVAL FROM CYLINDER
•
Observe oxygen cleanliness standards during removal.
•
Cylinder venting – follow Chapter 6a.5
•
Combination valve internal venting
For combination valves fitted with flow control head:
•
ensure that the shut-off valve is turned off,
•
set flow control knob on the maximum position - ensure that the flow control knob engages
correctly,
•
wait until the combination valve has completely been vented,
•
set flow control knob on ZERO position - ensure that the flow control knob engages
correctly,
For combination valves without flow head:
•
ensure the shut-off valve is turned off,
•
insert a quick-coupler probe in the combination valve quick-coupler (Refer to appendix Nr
2 to get information about connecting / disconnecting procedure of quick coupler type on
your product),
•
wait until the combination valve has completely been vented,
•
remove the quick-coupler male probe,
•
Connect a GCE genuine filling adaptor. Do not use excessive torque when connecting the
filling adaptor.
For venting of residual pressure through the filling port use only GCE genuine filling
adaptor. Contact GCE for further information about genuine filling adaptor available for
your product.
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from oxygen
pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could reduce actual flow
delivered.
•
Wait until the whole medical gas primary package has completely been vented.
•
Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction to stop
position. Do not use excessive force (Maximum recommended closing torque is 3 Nm).
6a.5 CYLINDER VENTING
Combination valve fitted with flow control head:
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
Sudden opening could result in a danger of fire or explosion arising from oxygen
pressure shocks. Insufficient opening of the shut-off valve could reduce actual flow
delivered.
•
Set flow control knob on the maximum position - ensure that flow control knob engages
correctly,
•
Wait until the cylinder has completely been vented – at least until pressure indicator enters
red zone.
Perform cylinder venting in well-ventilated areas to avoid oxygen saturation of ambient
atmosphere, which could result in an increased danger of fire.
•
Turn off at the shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in a clockwise direction to stop
position. Do not use excessive force (Maximum recommended closing torque is 3 Nm).
Combination valve without flow control head:
•
Open slowly the combination shut-off valve by turning the hand wheel in anticlockwise
direction approx 1 to 1½ turns.
