Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the right and left tail light.
3. If necessary, remove the following covers and panels:

In the luggage compartment
Covering of the rear end plate
-
Covering of the left rear trunk side
-
Rear bumper including bumper side parts
-
4. Fasten the trailer control module (Fig. 1/5) in the cavity on the left-hand side of the luggage
trunk using some velcro tape. Make sure it is securely fastened!
5. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer control module (Fig. 1/5).
6. Starting at the cavity on the left-hand luggage trunk side, lead the cable end through the
vehicle's cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/8) to the outside and from there to the socket holder plate
(Fig. 1/11).
Installing the socket
7. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/11) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
8. Screw the socket onto the holding plate (Fig. 1/11) using the supplied screws and nuts.
Connecting the tail lights
9. Lay the cable end with the "left" marking to the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/8) and the cable end
with the "right" marking to the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/13) through the through the vehicle's
bushings (Fig. 1/9+12).
10. Disconnect the plugs and connect it to the appropriate counterparts of the cable harness.
Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
Connecting the trailer control module
Note: In single Doblo Cargo model vehicles, the constant plus connector (slot "B", Fig. 1/4) in
the passenger compartment is not provided ex works. In these vehicles, lay the cable up to
the vehicle battery (Fig. 1/1) and connect it in a suitable way.
11. Connect the black wires with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (the top one of the three
M8 bolts on the crossmember fastening, Fig. 1/10), if necessary provide conducting
connection with the vehicle ground.
12. Lay the red/blue wire along the vehicle's cable harness to the constant plus (Fig. 1/4) on the
fuse box.
13. Let the quick-connect receptacle of the red/blue cable of the cable harness and the one of the
enclosed single red cable with the black connector lock into place in the fuse holder (Fig. 2).
14. Insert fuse (Fig. 2).
15. Only for 13-pin trailer socket:
Using the 3-pin connector for the constant plus extension kit (Fig. 1/7), the functions
"Constant plus", "Charge lead" and "Ground for charge lead" can be retrofitted.
The constant plus extension kit is available from specialist shops under the Westfalia part no.
