Clean the condenser (black grill) and the compressor at
the back of the appliance with a brush or a vacuum clean-
er. This operation will improve the performance of the
appliance and save energy consumption.
Important! Take care of not to damage the cooling system.
Important! When moving the cabinet, lift it by the front
edge to avoid scratching the floor.
Many proprietary kitchen surface cleaners contain chem-
icals that can attack/damage the plastics used in this ap-
pliance. For this reason use a soft cloth rinsed in warm
water and neutral soap emulsion for cleaning external
surfaces.
Important! Do not use detergents or abrasive paste as
these will damage the paint, or stainless steel anti finger
print coating.
After cleaning, reconnect the equipment to the mains
supply.
Defrosting the freezer
A certain amount of frost will always form on the freezer
shelves and around the top compartment.
Defrost the freezer when the frost layer reaches a thick-
ness of about 3-5 mm.
To remove the frost, follow the instructions below:
• switch off the appliance and pull out the plug from
the wall socket
• remove any stored food, wrap it in several layers of
newspaper and put it in a cool place
• remove the freezer drawers
• put insulating material around the drawers, e.g. blan-
kets or newspapers.
Defrosting can be accelerated by placing bowls with hot
water (not boiling) inside the freezer.

What to do if...

Warning! Before troubleshooting, disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket.
Only a qualified electrician or competent person must
do the troubleshooting that is not in this manual.
Problem
The appliance does not operate.
The Pilot light does not flash.
4) If foreseen.

Possible cause
The appliance is switched off.
• Loosen the drainage
channel from its resting
position, push it in ac-
cording to the illustra-
tion and place it in the
bottom freezer drawer
where water can collect
• carefully scrape off the
ice when it starts to
thaw. Use a wood or a plastic scraper
• when all the ice has melted, clean and wipe the cabi-
net dry, then put the drainage channel back in place.
• switch on the cabinet, insert the plug into the wall
socket and replace the frozen foodstuff.
Important! Never use sharp metal tools to scrape off
frost from the evaporator as you could damage it. Do
not use a mechanical device or any artificial means to
speed up the thawing process other than those
recommended by the manufacturer. A temperature rise
of the frozen food packs, during defrosting, may shorten
their safe storage life.

Periods of non-operation

When the appliance is not in use for long periods, take
the following precautions:
• disconnect the appliance from electricity supply
• remove all food
• defrost
4)
and clean the appliance and all accessories
• leave the door/doors ajar to prevent unpleasant smells.
If the cabinet will be kept on, ask somebody to check it
once in a while to prevent the food inside from spoiling
in case of a power failure.
Important! There are some sounds during normal use
(compressor, refrigerant circulation).
Switch on the appliance.
