5. The plug-in connector for the extension should be of the 2 pole + earth type of 10-16A/250V, in
accordance with EEC standards. The wire section in the cable should be equal to or greater than 1mm
The cable should not be lighter than cables of HO7 RN-F.
6. When disconnecting the power cable from the socket, always grip the plug itself and not the cable.
7. If the pump is used for emptying a pond, it should not be used when there are people in the pond.
Similarly, to avoid accidents during pump operation: washing, swimming or domestic animals
bathing is strictly forbidden around the operating area.
8. When the pump is immersed, handling should not be carried out using the power cable, but using a
device (for ex. a rope) connected to the carrying handle.
IV. GETTING STARTED
Before any intervention on product, ensure that product is disconnected form its
power source.
4.1- Unpacking
- Remove product from its packaging.
- Check that product and accessories are not damage
4.2- Electrical connection
Connect the pump to a socket of 2 pole + earth type of 10-16A/250V, fitted with residual current
device (RCD) or circuit breaker with a sensitivity not exceeding 30 mA.
4.3- Connecting the evacuation hose
1. Ensure the connector (1) is tightly screwed onto the ring flange of pump outlet.
2. Wedge the discharge hose (not included) onto the connector.
3. Add a fixing collar (hose clamp not supplied) to complete the seal.
4.4- Pump set-up
1. If the pump is installed in an enclosed area with emission of noxious fumes (eg septic tank, tank,
pit sump ...), the installation must be carried out in compliance with local and/or national laws by
qualified personnel so as to avoid danger.
2. The pump must be in a vertical position over 0.5m from the water bottom (ensure that it is stable
during operation).
3. Ensure that the float switch can move freely.
4. The suction holes must never be obstructed (e.g. avoid clogging by weed or other matter).
It is therefore preferable that the pump should never be placed directly on the ground or on the bottom
of the well, pond or vessel.
For example, place the pump on a brick.
4.5- Application of the floating switch
1. The float switch (2) enables the automatic start of the pump.
The pump starts when the centre line of the floating switch and water level angle is more than 28º.
The pump will stop automatically when the centre line of the floating switch and water level angle is
less than 28º.
4.6- Start-up
Before starting the pump, check:
- the direction of motor rotation: trial-run the pump for no more than 1 minute to check the motor
rotates clockwise (when looking at pump from above);
- that electrical connection is correctly setup;
- that the electrical cable and drain hose are properly laid to avoid accidents;
- that check valves (if fitted) are opened
