THERMOSTATIC SHOWER MIXER
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE
To the installer:
Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding to install this product.
To the user:
Do not throw these instructions away. Keep them as a guide for effective, periodic maintenance
throughout the life of the product.
INSTALLATION
To ensure easy installation of the mixer, the ends of the pipes (1) should have a 1/2" female thread,
with a distance of 150 mm between them.
1/2" male adapters (2) as in the diagram MUST be used.
Pipes should not be embedded more than 15 mm in relation to tiled surface.
Pipe installation and adjustment
IMPORTANT: For easy mixer assembly, follow these instructions to adjust pipes (1) in wall correctly
and install them in the correct position:
1. Place adaptors (2) over plate (8), place plate on wall and screw adaptors to pipes (1).
Ensure pipes are embedded to a maximum depth of 15 mm in relation to finished tile surface
(Diagram A).
2. Line up the plate in horizontal position and seal pipes to wall.
3. When the cement is dry, drill two 8 mm diameter holes to affix the mixer, using the plate or its
dimensions (Diagram B) as a reference. Drilled plate can then be removed.
4. Remove adaptors from plate, screw plate (3) to adaptors, then place Teflon or other watertight
product over adaptors.
Use an 8 mm hexagonal key to screw adaptors to pipes. Ensure that there is a 24 mm distance
between the tile surface and the edge of the bolt (see Diagram C).
5. To ensure installation is watertight, turn on water to free pipes from any solids that may
obstruct the mixer.
CAUTION: If necessary, the distance of 150 mm between the mixer inlets can be corrected by from 2
to 4 mm, by attaching a supplementary rubber washer to one or both mixer inlets.
Loosen bolt (5) and fit supplementary washer (6) enabling 2 mm correction. If greater correction is
required, repeat this operation with the other inlet
Correction to reduce the 150 mm distance is not possible.
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE SETTING
The maximum temperature that can be supplied by the thermostatic mixer depends on the temperature
of the hot water entering and pressure conditions in the system.
According to these conditions, maximum temperature may be as high as 60-65º C.
However, the temperature adjustment disc is equipped with a safety mechanism regulating set
maximum temperature to between 42ºC and 50ºC.
The disc has a temperature limitation mechanism in position A,
corresponding to approximately 42 C (see illustration)
To adjust temperature limiter, loosen screw (1) and turn key (2)
to the left. Then tighten screw to set key in desired position
(approximately 44 C)
Temperature adjustment (only if necessary)
This mixer has been measured at the factory for balanced pressure and hot water temperature of 65º C.
If conditions of use are different from those indicated, the temperature of mixed water supplied may be
different from selected temperature.
There exists a possibility to regulate temperate when a large difference is detected between the
temperature indicated and that of the actual output from the mixer.
Regulation:
1. Set the disc at the central position and measure the temperature of mixed water from mixer
output (see illustration D). The temperature should be between 35º C and 40º C.
2. If the temperature is lower, turn the disc, measuring the temperature with a thermometer until a
temperature of 37-38º C is obtained.
3. Without changing disc position, remove regulation disc index (1), remove screw (2)
(illustration E).
4. Remove disc (3) without moving what plastic ring (4). Return disc to central position again
(illustration D).
Mixer regulation is calibrated according to specific installation conditions.
5. Fasten the disc with the screw and attach regulation disc index.
If no limit on maximum temperature of water supply is desired, remove screw (1) and take out key (2),
replacing the screw once more (1). Without this key, there is no restriction on mixer output
temperature.
