Description and use
The product you have purchased is an industrial centrifugal extractor fan for free radial extraction (RF) or vertical
extraction (RFV) or extraction into ventilation duct.

• Do not use this appliance for functions other than those described in this booklet.
• After having removed the product from its packaging, ensure that it is complete and undamaged: if in doubt,
contact a Vortice Service Center immediately. Do not leave packaging materials within the reach of children or
mentally disabled people.
• If the appliance is to be removed, turn the switch to off and then disconnect the unit from the mains.
• This appliance should not be perceived as suitable for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capacities, or in any case lacking the necessary experience and skills, unless supervised or
previously instructed in its operation by an individual who is responsible for their safety. Children must always be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Do not use in explosive environments or to extract acids or corrosive substances.
• If the appliance is installed at a height of less than 2.5 metres from the floor, the use of the special protective grille
to protect moving parts is obligatory (fig. 6).
• The interior of the product must be cleaned only by professionally qualified personnel.
• The sound pressure level, scale A measured at 3 metres is NOT above 70 dB (A) for all models.

• Do not make changes of any kind to the product.
• The appliance must be installed by a qualified engineer.
• Make periodical visual inspections of the appliance to ensure that it is completely intact. If any imperfections are
found, do not use the appliance and contact your nearest Vortice Service Center immediately.
• The electrical system to which the product is connected must conform to current legislation.
• The appliance must be correctly connected to an efficient earthing system, as foreseen by current electrical safety
regulations. If in doubt, ask for a qualified engineer to check it.
• Only connect the appliance to the power supply/outlet if the power supply/outlet has the capacity to supply the
maximum power absorbed by the appliance. If it does not, consult a qualified engineer at once.
• Use a multi-polar, magnetic-thermal switch with minimum contact gaps of 3 mm to install the appliance.
• The air or fumes to be extracted must be clean (i.e. free from grease, soot, chemical and corrosive agents or
explosive and inflammable mixtures).
• Do not cover or obstruct the appliance's two inlet.
• Should the appliance be dropped or suffer a heavy blow, have it checked immediately by an authorised Vortice
Service Center and, if repairs are required, make sure that original Vortice parts are used.
• If the appliance does not function correctly or develops a fault, contact Vortice* immediately. Ensure that only
genuine original Vortice spares are used for any repairs.
• The extraction fan, like all moving machines, may generate vibrations. To avoid these vibrations being transmitted
to the structure of the building, apply insulating washers 1), a hexagonal nut 2), anchor brackets 3), and an
insulating sleeve 4) (fig.7).
• If inverter speed controllers are used, make sure that the fan is properly connected to a 230V (single phase) or
400V (three phase) supply as required by the inverter.
• The specifications of the power supply must match those of the data plate A (Fig.1).
