Installation instructions for Compact Grit Box
1. Assembling the spring clip
First slide the mounting clip (Pos.13) over the lower end of the spring clip (Pos. 15). Then
suspend the spring clip in the upper bore on the lock side of the container and bolt to the
container using the saucer-head screw (Pos. 1), washer (Pos. 12) and hexagon nut (Pos. 4).
Check its function.
2. Assembling the check flap
Bolt the check flap (Pos. 10) into place with the countersunk screw (Pos. 9), washer
(Pos. 12) and hexagon nut (Pos. 11) so that it can be slightly rotated.
3. Assembling the catch hook
Bolt the catch hook (Pos. 3) to the cover (Pos. 7) with the saucer-head screw (Pos. 1)
and hexagon nut (Pos. 4). Insert an O-ring (Pos. 2) and the pre-assembled holding strap
(Pos. 16) between the catch hook and cover.
4. Mounting the cover
The hinges are fitted in the factory so that the cover can be mounted. It can be secured
using the axial clamping rings (Pos. 20). The holding strap hook is suspended in the lateral
bores on the inside of the container.
5. Installing the container
Install the container on a flat and clean base. Carefully remove any stones, etc. If supports
(beams) are needed these may only be laid longitudinal to-the container and must project
from the sides of the container base. If installing in front of a wall please make sure that the
cover an be opened.
6. Operation
The container cover closes automatically and can be opened from the inside in an
emergency. Nevertheless, children under a certain age may still be unable to open the
container. We thus recommend that the container be secured with a padlock.
7. Storing the container when not in use
7.1. Remove cover
Fully open the cover, remove the retaining strap and slide the cover to one side.
Assemble in reverse order.
7.2. Stacking containers
First pull back the spring clip (Pos. 15) on the container and lock in this position by
turning the check flap (Pos. 10).
If stored outdoors slide the containers into each other on the side. If storing in a normal
position there must be a gap of 140 mm between each container.
